Wow- it has a really neat history! Neat place for a Stevie show I think.
It looks small - like House of Blues size, no? If it really does seat 1500 that's amazing, cuz it looks smaller than that. I hope all of you who can take advantage of this, do. I've been wanting her to play a small place like this since I saw her at HOB in LA in 1999!
I'd go, but I'm already asking for time off that week, plus time off the following week to see Stevie in Vegas. Flying out to NY from San Diego probably isn't exactly cheap either.
I'm so excited for you guys who get to go!! :woohoo:

I've never been to Webster Hall, primarily because it's usually a dance club on most nights. I do have to wonder what they were thinking when they booked this place. I have some theories about why this is happening:
1. It was the only decent sized venue available at short notice on that date.
2. This is a way of generating some publicity in the mainstream media; the scarcity of the tickets vs. the demand would be in and of itself newsworthy.
3. This is an industry/media showcase, and a small subset of tickets will be given away via a lottery type of system. This happens all the time in New York.
I am doubtful that this is a live taping for a DVD or TV special. This is the first time she will be performing her new songs in public, so why would she want to capture that on film?
There is nothing conventional about this gig at all, and it makes me very, very, very excited about having a chance at going. It will be quite a bummer to miss out on this!

I wonder how much the tickets will be. 1200 people with the current $125 dollars a head won't add up.It would not even enough to pay her travels and plus her crew with these days costs.

I am crossing my fingers I can get a ticket before they sell out! I saw Stevie back in 2000 for two of the millenium shows at the Sun Theatre in Anaheim, CA...what an awesome venue...I think it was about the same size. Only if you're rich and have the money to spend an extra 2 nights in NYC. For fans that were and or planning to go to NOTS and would like to see this show, it would have been so much better to have a conert either the night before or night after NOTS - not 2 days before.

I don't recall that. But even if he did, I know that Howard is in a much different place today, and even though it has taken him until well past the age of 50, he's finally grown up. Over the past five years he has mended fences and actually become good friends with some of his former mortal enemies- Chevy Chase, Rosie O'Donnell, etc. But considering Howard's deep appreciation for Fleetwood Mac (he saw them at the Huggy Bear benefit in the Hamptons in 2009, which he raved about on the air) as well as Stevie (he had Natalie Maines sing "Landslide" at his wedding), I think he would be beyond honored to have Stevie on his show. And considering his freeform, no-holds-barred approach, he will have her on commercial-free for as long as she can stay. It would be an incredible (and funny) hour+ of radio.

That's a shame because Stevie is right up Howard's demographic- white males 30 - 60 who grew up listening to album rock. They all need to know that Stevie is back. And if Howard gives her new album his stamp of approval, it means a lot to his audience.

I dont recall Howard ever making fun of Stevie or her fans. I know he ridicules some members of his staff for following Bruce all over, although he likes Bruce himself.
The idiot Ralph has made fun of Stevie, but the last time I heard Howard mention Stevie was when Fred was playing the acoustic-y GDW and his exact words were "she's really good, isnt she?" then he and Robin sang along.
I've also heard him praise her brilliance as a songwriter, and praise her performance on the superbowl show.
I dont think she would ever in a million years go on Howard Stern though.

The latter. I hope it doesn't involve taking a day off work, but one must do what one must do.
What I do find interesting about this is that they are considering this a "pre-sale," which implies that there will be an official sale date later on. This probably means that they are only selling a portion of the tickets on Wednesday. I think that's how pre-sales are supposed to work!

Really?
I am considering it as a 'try out' performance. Doing some new songs in front of a smaller audience to see if they translate on stage or not.
That's what I think too. It will be like a dress rehearsal. Inevitably songs will be dropped as the "tour" wears on, so this may be the only time some of the new songs will be performed.
(BTW, can you do something about the size of your sig pic? It's really, really big and requires a lot of extra scrolling to get through. Thanks.)

Yeah, they really hooked us in on that Jan.13th deal w/ the "free" download of "Secret Love";). I was rather naively hoping that the initial pre-order would have morphed into a Special Edition with a bonus track. It will be interesting to see if Itunes or Amazon will have a different edition of IYD with yet another *bonus* track. I would be totally on board if they did, but I'm suddenly sensing "My Heart" is the only extra track. And the Amazon SE version will just have the extra track minus the litho:shrug:
I ordered my "rush delivery" regardless of the pre-order timeframes, not only because I want to receive it May 3rd, but in hoping they are gentler on the lithograph. Less time in transit.

I would think it would definitely be over by 11. I can't see her singing, by herself, for over 2 hours. So, yeah, you'd have time. Just hop in a cab and you'll be at Penn Station in 10 minutes, I'd imagine.
My guess is, if it starts at 9, it will be over by 10:30.

My step-father used to throw my music (mostly heavy metal) in the trash.
My mom threw hundreds of dollars of my Stevie **** out a few years ago, so I understand that side of it too. Since my parents separated my dad is even cooler than usual  That being said, I know I am one lucky girl.

I'm definitely going to participate in any Ledgie meet-ups that I can! If it's general admission, I'll be outside the venue for quite some time...

Stevie Nicks Announces Webster Hall Performance
Stevie Nicks is a total babe. Just try to refute it. Since the first time I found the Fleetwood Mac album Rumours in my parents record collection, I thought she was certified stone cold fox. Yes, she has aged a touch since the 70’s, but it is hard to deny she is a league of her own especially after all she has been through.
But let’s put aside Stevie Nick’s good looks for a second and remember that she is a hit machine. Since she joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974, she has been an integral part to a ridiculous number of hit tracks both as part of Fleetwood Mac and a solo artist.
Ms. Nicks is currently crisscrossing the country on the "Heart & Soul" tour with Rod Stewart – a tour that stopped at Madison Square Garden on March 26 and April 6. Stevie will return to New York on May 4 for a performance at the much smaller Webster Hall. This uncommon, intimate concert will be a celebration for the release of Nicks’ seventh solo studio album titled In Your Dreams (Reprise Records) that will hit stores on May 3.
A show of this magnitude is sure to blow out in a matter of minutes, but mega-fans can stop by Stevie’s online store to swap an email address for a code to the pre-sale that begins Wednesday, April 13 at 10am. While you are getting your unique password, feel free to pre-order the new album. General on sale for the Webster show begins April 16 at noon.
Yes, ticket buyers should expect a number of tracks off the forthcoming In Your Dreams, but even if Stevie pulls one or two hits out of her hat it will be worth the extraordinarily high ($99) ticket price. Now I just need to work on getting back stage so I can cross her off my list. Wish me luck!

Haha yup. I was just on the phone with Ticketmaster trying to get as much information as possible. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me much but the article I just posted is saying that this show is going to sell out really quickly.... on a plus side, I can try buying tickets again on Saturday if I can't get them tomorrow :( I REALLY hope that's not the case, though...
I'm hoping the show is general admission. Ticketmaster didn't know and by the time I called Webster Hall, they were closed. Anyone know?

It has to be, and Webster Hall won't know anything until show day. They don't deal with tickets if it is going through ticketmaster. I go to GA shows all the time here....even with bigger artists, it is still 'easy' to get a ticket. Just calm down and wait for the code.

I'm thinking about flying out too, if I get tickets. And I have to think this intimate show is a showcase featuring 5-6 tracks at a minimum from IYD:cool: I think it's the best chance at seeing the most new material on stage, and sort of a testing ground. I don't think she will cram that many new songs at the casino gigs announced so far in May, maybe 3-4 tops, We shall see. But things are getting exciting thats for sure.:)

You guys that are flying in should all consider alternative airports aside from JFK and LGA. Newark just started flying Southwest for anyone who can fly them and they were advertising some decent fares from a few cities. Also SW flies to Islip, although getting to the city is much harder from Long Island without a car than from Newark. There's Philly airport too. I know a lot of friends have saved hundreds flying into Philly from various places.
Good luck everyone. Hope to see and meet some of you there!

I live in CT and have taken the train back to New Haven from NYC after midnight before. I just checked the schedule the other day and they run basically all night (morning)...1 a.m., 3 a.m. etc...

Oh thats great.I probably can pick it up in Wallingford and geting droped off back in town,I'm not to keen on leaving my car in New Haven. It probably get trashed like Davids car last week at the bus depot.
Between the parking and the $4.00 dollar gas prices The train would fit the bill.

I just noticed that they changed the terms of the sale:
There is a two (4) ticket limit for this event. The ticket limit will be strictly enforced. Exceeding the limit will result in cancellation of your tickets without prior notice. Tickets will not be sold at any Ticketmaster outlets for this event. 18 AND OVER WITH ID
First of all, is the limit two or four? Secondly, it looks like they've abandoned the "will call" concept- a *****storm recipe in the making for sure. So it sounds like tickets will be mailed (or e-mailed) after all, which should be less of a hardship, I think.
Just to take a temperature reading here... are there people who don't have codes that need tickets? If so, speak out. Now. I will try to get over the limit (by using different credit cards and addresses) if there is a demand. If the demand is strong enough, we should all pool our resources and buy as many as we can and re-sell them here. There is no reason why anyone on the Ledge should be left out. This is history in the making.

I think you should be careful with this.... the website says that they will cancel the tickets of anyone who tries to sidestep around the rule.
