STEVIE NICKS CONFIRMED TO APPEAR ON OPRAH
What a Great Way To Start a Saturday!
The Oprah Show in it's Farewell Season will be taping a show on April 8th in Chicago which will include a "special appearance" by Stevie Nicks.
Sheri Salata Executive Producer for The Oprah Show absolutely confirmed via her Twitter account this morning that Stevie would be making a "special appearance" and that the show is scheduled to air on April 13th. HOW AMAZING IS THIS! Perfect timing for the taping as the day after on April 9th Stevie is to hit the stage with Rod Stewart at The United Center.
Over the course of the last week or so, various sites and Twitter posts from fans contacted by the Oprah show confirming their invite to the show in April pretty confirmed Stevie would be there... but until you get the final confirmation, you never really know.
Facebook and Twitter no doubt played a BIG part in making this happen - all started by RealSteveGains on Twitter in his relentless pursuit to get Stevie on during the farewell season - also helped along by the Facebook community: Get Stevie Nicks on Oprah: The Farewell Season WELL DONE STEVE and THE FACEBOOK COMMUNITY!
Back on March 19th Sheri Salata posted on Twitter that RealSteveGains pleas have not gone unheard, and that good news was to come on this she hoped... On March 22nd news surfaced that The Oprah Show was looking for Stevie's ultimate fans and put the question out there "Are You Stevie's # 1 Fan" via her website. I can only imagine the number of essay's received in response to Oprahs call.
Matt Denison a Canadian fan from the Ottawa area of Ontario was contacted by The Oprah Show wanting to hear more about his story after he submitted his desire to be on the show... CBC in Canada, the national broadcaster also contacted Matt after his story was given to the CBC. They featured his story on radio and in print "Oprah staff contact Ottawa Stevie Nicks Megafan" Matt also started a Facebook Page: Get Matt on the Oprah Show
STEVIE NICKS ON OPRAH!
The show format for this taping and how it's going to be presented isn't entirely known... There's speculation that Salt N Pepa and Sister Sledge will also be appearing. Pat Benatar confirmed via her Facebook Page that she was headed to Chicago to appear on the show (no other specifics given)... It's obviously a Women in Music focus... We'll have to wait and see. Exciting times and perfect timing for promoting Stevie's new album "In Your Dreams" on shelves May 3rd... Maybe they could hold off the airing of the show for a date closer to the release date to keep it fresh in peoples minds... In any case, it's great to see this finally happen for Steve, Matt and for all the fans of Stevie Nicks that submitted their essays and were accepted. Oprah's studio audience is not large so you are truly lucky if you were chosen to attend Stevie's first appearance on Oprah!

I'm sure they got a ton of entries, but it would have been nice to at least get an "auto-response" thanking us for entering who weren't picked and that a decision had been made. I know we all spent a lot of time putting together our entries (and especially cutting it down to 2000 characters and resizing our photos! haha)
Who knows...maybe they'll do a montage of some of the entries they received and it won't just focus on the one megafan they chose!??! How cool would that be.
Regardless...I'm so proud of Stevie for getting on Oprah! I'm sure it will be an amazing show!!! :D

really , why isn't she going on Jimmy Fallon , Conan, Letterman, Even Craig Ferguson ( I'd like to see that ) where a younger audience will see her not mommies on Prozac ,,they are not going to by her cd or attend her shows there going to groove to dreams and relive their youth

You have got to be kidding. I'm not an Oprah fan, but "mommies on Prozac"...really? This is a perfect venue for Stevie. Don't worry, she'll do the late night circuit too.

Agreed. Not sure why one might feel anyone who watches Oprah is old, a mother and on Protac. Might someone watching Oprah be young, a father, and not on medication at all? Perhaps disabled, perhaps a soldier in Walter Reed, perhaps suffering from some disability and Stevie helped pull them out of despair. Could there be a gay man, suffering with AIDS, encouraged by Stevie's lyrics of "Touched By An Angel" that watches Oprah? The scenarios are endless--as are the fans of Stevie. Stevie's been in Fleetwood Mac since @ 1975. Let's say your Momma was a fan then, and sang Stevie songs to you as an infant, you'd be at least 35 years old by now. Your momma would be close to 60. I don't know that there is a certain defined age for who is a Stevie fan.
I'm also not sure why some folks are disappointed that Stevie is getting some PR on Oprah. I'm confused why there is despair at not being chosen as Stevie's #1 fan, either. Does anyone believe they really are her sole #1 fan? Does getting on Oprah make it so? Will there be some sort of ceremony, like a crown presentation, ribbons or an annointing ceremony? Just what are the attributes of the #1 fan? Do you have them? Perhaps you can post here why you feel you should have been chosen over the person (people) that was (were) picked.
How was your submission? Could it be based on how well you communicated in your on line application? Does spelling and grammar count? Who read your application? Was there a bias? What were they looking for?
In the end, I think it's great Stevie is getting some PR for Oprah. It's about Stevie, isn't it? Or is it about YOU, the number one fan and your recognition for all that you have done.

It is great Stevie is on Oprah it would be nice if it were just Stevie and Pat and now you throw in Salt N Pepa and Sister Sledge together not a good combination unless its a half hour with Stevie and Pat and then they bring out Salt n pepa and Sister Sledge wonder if they are performing or its a sit down interview or both so maybe each sings one song and sits down with her interesting unless its an hour of Pat and Stevie and another show is Salt n pepa and Sister Sledge.
Good for Matt Denison. Good for Stevie Nicks. I'm not sure what the theme of the show will be, but one thing is certain, is that it will showcase the affect that Stevie Nicks has had on peoples' lives. I would think that making the world a better place by helping people through troubled times and making them happy, is more important than how many album sales one makes. What an honor for Stevie to be a part of this. I can't think of anything else that could be more inspirational to keep her doing what she does.

Stevie and FM have a huge spanning fan demographic age-wise. Teenagers (and probably a few younger) all the way up to senior citizens. Oprah is a big deal... period. Whether, you're a fan of O, or her show, being on Oprah is a first for Stevie. She has done all the late night talk rounds before, and will most likely do them all again in May, etc. And don't forget that The Oprah Show gets global viewership. It's all good.

I think it's great, any exposure for IYD is good exposure. Oprah is the most respectable and well known talk show there is. Probably the most watched also. I think it's great Stevie made it on the show this year, it's Oprah's swan song year, so hopefully lots of people will be watching !! :blob1:

It'll be interesting to see how this goes. If Oprah doesn't know Stevie's music (I'd be surprised if she did!) the segment could be a mess. A few years ago Oprah had Billy Joel on and since she didn't know his music it was a disasterous interview, very boring and both Billy and Oprah seemed very uncomfortable. Sort of like in '94 when Stevie was on Jay Leno, that appearence was a mess because Jay didn't know anything about Stevie.

Don't worry, she will. But let's face it, Mommies on Prozac are the people who are going to buy her albums. A lot of teenagers would probably say, "Stevie Nicks on Fallon tonight? Fukc, give me another hit of the bong and put on Scrubs."
Is she actually going to be in the studio? "Special appearance" sounds like a video feed to me.
I don't see why she wouldn't be seeing as she will be in Chicago that day. Nor do I see Stevie doing an interview over the EVIL Skype!

Hold it guys :) I have not been told that I am on the show ... yet although if she has finally been confirmed then maybe they will call Monday. My friends were saying that with Oprah's power and money I am sure theycan fly any guest in North America out to the show at the last minute.
If I am not picked it wouldn't be the end of the world but I would be a bit disapointed. I don't know anyone else who got this much press over an email from the Oprah show. My sister was very kind to start the Get Matt on The Oprah Show. campaign on Facebook with the hopes that we would reach 1000 members who would click Like. She knew that it would be a dream of mine to meet my idol so if it were to happen I would be enternally greatful but if not I will live to see another day and still support Stevie and whatever she does.

It is hard to know what they are looking for. I don' t dress like Stevie or have Stevie tatoos etc. I just have merchandise (lots) and my passion for her music and willingness to share her music with the world. I think I am a pretty big fan but as I said the producers may be looking for someone special with a real tear jerker or outrageous story that will work for the show
I know I have had allot of drama in my life with seizures, bullying, stuttering , learning disabilities and a serious brain surgery when I was a kid but comapred to what some people have gone through or are going through mine doesn't feel that important in the grand scheme of things.
If Stevie is just making an appearance then maybe it will the old trick where they surprise an audience member who thinks they are there just to be in the audience and then you get "Where is so and so?" and then they tell your story etc etc.

So glad you are a "normal" Stevie fan. I don't dress up or have tattoos either and when I thought about filling out the form I was thinking I'm not a big enough "fan". But from how you described yourself, I would be honored for you to be on there to represent us other fans! Unless you get on there and totally FREAK out and make an ass out of yourself and embarass the whole Stevie nation!!!! But you wouldn't do that right?;)

Well this what I have been thinking.
I have met Mick Fleetwood and Melissa Etheridge in brief backstage meet and greets and both times I was calm cool and collected. I shook their hands and talked about fav songs and asked some questions. I was worried when I met Melissa that I might get emotional or cry or make an ass out of myself because at the time it felt like a big deal because she normally doesn't do allot of meet and greets (Not including the travel packages she offers for select shows on her tours that include a meet and greet). She came out and because it was me and my twin brother whom she has seen at the front of the stage at many shows she said "Hey I know you guys now which one is older?" (I am by 1 minute LOL) It felt very casual and relaxed and I was so calm and cool and not once did I cry or stutter or talk too fast.
As for Stevie and Oprah I don't think I would cry and make an ass out of myself but I also wonder what Oprah and her staff would think if I wasn't balling like a baby or getting all emotional. I don't know how one should compose themself when meeting their idol on Oprah. I have thought about what I would say and I think I would probably just tell her how honoured I am to be here and that I am happy that you have new music to share with the world and I would try and think of a question or two that would be of interest to us die hard fans and not the same old same old that always comes up when she does interviews.
I think because she has now been confirmed those of us who were contacted by the show should hopefully hear back from them. All along I have been telling myself that the producers would not contact us if they were not serious so who knows. If nothing comes of it then at least I can say for a brief while I was one of the big news stories in Ottawa.

She'll know Rumours. But these TV interviews are seldom discussions about the music anyway. That audience wants soap opera, I imagine. This being Oprah, she'll know a bit about & want to talk about Stevie's past love life & battles with weight gain & drugs, & maybe something about what women performers go through as they age, & how the new generation needs to write their own songs, & not date other rockers. I'm guessing the only 'new' interview topic they might get into is Rod or Dave.
I'm also guessing I'll be asleep several minutes before Stevie sings 'Landslide' or some other safe snoozer. :)

I hope Stevie's segment on Oprah is something that makes us proud. I am not an Oprah viewer and I don't know what to expect. Viewership on Oprah has been between 3 and 6 million the last few years. This may will be the largest TV audience that Stevie has been in front of in quite some time. Hopefully Oprah gives IYD a listen and it is part of Stevie's segment.

I'm curious though...did the producer contact you via phone, or just an e-mail? As I mentioned in an earlier post, I got a phone call from Allyson on the 22nd but haven't heard a word since.
Jeannie, I'm posing the same question to you. Were you just contacted via e-mail to appear in the audience? Ok so here is what happend.
Last summer I casually sent a letter to Oprah via her website submisson page where they asked for people to submit suggestions for guests who have not been on the show. I sent a small letter.
I had honestly forgotten all about it due to a number of things (Job interviews, my 30th birthday going etc). As of today it was two weeks ago that a producer emailed me asking for a picture (nothing fancy) and more info as to why I love Stevie Nicks plus a contact number. I immediatly called my mom to tell her the amazing news. She suggested taking two pictures 1 with my twin brother and another myself both showing off m merchandise as she thought that maybe being a twin and having a decent collection of merchandise might impress the producers if they were looking for something unique.
Two night later I took the photos and sent in a longer letter explaining why I liked Stevie. As this all went down my older sister decided to get things really going by emailing the local news stations my story. CBC took the bite and called me and her (separatly) and asked us some questions then aired the interview as news story. They then called me back later on that day asking me to appear live in studio on a radio show called "All In A Day". My sister had also created a facebook account page called "Get Matt On The Oprah show". The idea was to have people click like and see how many people we could get to help me out. If you search Matt Denison Oprah through Google you find that several sites picked up the CBC 's story. I was also interviewd on 93.9 BOB FM last week as well.
After the CBC radio interview I responded back to the producer with an update explaining what had happned (Facebook. Radio interview etc) and as of right now I have heard nothing. One of my Facebook friends who is going is helping me out my tweeting @Oprah and @Sherrisalata since she is the executive producer who gave him the news Sat that he had tix.
My only point on the issue is that I don't know of anyone who has had the media coverage that I got so I felt that if I wasn't picked I would be a little surprised since one would think that Oprah likes this kind of publicity and feel good news story as some local people called it.
It won't be the end of the world if I don't get to go. But I will admit that come Friday if I am not there I will be a little bummed.

One thing that does intrigue me is how they can decide who is the # 1 fan? I think I am safe in assuming that all of us thinks THEY are the # 1 fan. I think they should have said are you a big Stevie Nicks Fan? Do you sing along to her music attend many of her concerts know the words to most of her songs? Something along those lines. Because then it isn't about being a number 1 fan ( which could be dabated as some may say I have seen more shows or have more swag so I am a number 1 fan) I guess it comes down to what we or they view as being the ultimate fan.
I know I am not as crazy a fan as some others who have tatoos and dress like her and have everything under the sun related to SN/FM and if that is what they are looking for then I know I won't be chosen.

Matt, I agree with you--I don't think there is a single #1 fan. But I've been reading what you have said in your posts relating to all of this, and if there is anyone that represents a lot of the spirit of all Stevie's fans, I think you fit the bill. (as much as anyone with tatoos, the clothes, the hats and all the other trappings) You do us proud by just being yourself, by loving the music, by caring about Stevie. So if you are given the opportunity, go out there and represent!!! We will all be cheering for anyone that represents the fans. Don't sweat not being crazy. I think it would be fun sitting at a show with you, rather than someone that IS crazy!

Jeannie, I'm posing the same question to you. Were you just contacted via e-mail to appear in the audience? I've been scouring all the Stevie/Mac/Oprah sites trying to put together as much info as I can. The taping is so soon and it would be fantastic if we were all there to show Stevie (and the Oprah audience) our support and love![/QUOTE
I suggested on Oprah's website a long time ago that she interview Stevie. I know she gets unlikely interviews and I think this would be a good platform for Stevie.
Fast forward, I saw the links for the superfan and the audience and I filled them out and sent my short paragraph and 3 pictures. I heard via e-mail that I was invited to be in the audience that same day. My essay was about how I first enjoyed the songs when I saw FM while I was in college and was not surprised that they became a super group. I became interested in the drama when Rumours came out , and then enthralled with Stevie's lyrics. I was specific about which lyrics resonate with me. I also mentioned that my husband's normal is seeing me vacuum while dancing to Stevie's music etc.
I feel very lucky to have been picked. I think I'm very normal... in a fan sort of way.
I've loved Stevie's music for more than 30 years! I hope Oprah really interviews her and asks about her life and music in a way that gives us a better understanding into the woman we all love.

Well I didn't reply to the superfan or the fan of rock and roll simply because I had akready been contacted and didn't think it was neccessary to repeat myself twice since they already had asked for more info on why I love Stevie Nicks.
Now I am thinking maybe I should replied.
Oh well the waiting continues....

I was just e-mailed from Oprah announcing that there will be a Covergirl makeover team at the taping and they are looking for audience volunteers for a rock and roll makeover like Stevie Nicks, Joan Jet, Pat Benatar or Salt and Peppa! They want "to unleash your inner goddess". I guess that is who is on the show?!?
Not sure I want to go on national tv for a makeover. Although I could really use one, I'm not the kind of person who likes to draw attention to myself and I think a makeover would be embarassing...maybe when I was younger!! I might look a little like Stevie during the heavy clonopin years, ha ha!
I know a lot of you would like to go to this taping and I think some of you might still. I will try to let you know what is going on as best I can to keep you in the loop!

Cutting it a little close, aren't we??? HA!
It has been confirmed that Stevie Nicks will be making her first (and obviously last) appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in two weeks.
The lovely leading lady of Fleetwood Mac will be making a "special appearance" on the show, according to a Twitter of one of the executive producers, on April 13th.
Set your Tivos…NOW! We hope this special appearance includes at least two performances!

I don't know for sure who will be there besides Stevie and Pat Benatar but I did receive an audience invite for a makeover :
"In celebration of the trailblazing music icons that will be taking to our stage,
we've teamed up with our friends at CoverGirl to glam up a few lucky women in
our audience with their very own rockstar makeover!

My confirmation included a guest so I'm bringing another big Stevie fan. I tried to get another ticket and was told that it was not possible. The taping begins at 11:30 and runs until 4:00. I'm happy to be going but I feel bad for those of you who haven't heard anything yet. Cameras and cell phones are not allowed and must be checked. A friend of mine went to see a different taping and she was not allowed to bring a normal size purse in! I have not heard any confirmation about who will be there except for the earlier mentions. There is nothing official on Oprah's website. I doubt the entire audience will get to meet Stevie as I think there will be about 300(?) people.
The GOOD news is we can all watch it on TV on the 13th!

I hope there is an after the show thing like when she used to air OPRAH AFTER THE SHOW on the oxygen network. I am bringing cd booklets for pat and Stevie so I can hopefully at least get an autograph. They said no cameras or cell phones so I guess no pictures with them. no play by play either as you might get thrown out if you are caught with anything. I don't want to risk it. However I have on DVD the Melissa Etheridge show from 2005 (breast cancer) and at the end of it she posed with Oprah and took a picture. So I am hoping we will get that and harpo will just have there own camera.

Those are really great shows to watch -- it would be interesting to hear the producers discuss their choices of women to bring on as well as the process of inviting certain fans -- and even hear Oprah's take on why these women are important to the world. Watching her MasterClass Part 2, you can really get what is important to Oprah .. I'm thinking she's seeing the impact that these poet/lyricist/singers are making -- she must, given there are 10 year olds to 100 year olds (well, maybe) who have been influenced in some way by Stevie at least :)

Ummmmmmm, Miley!?
Miley could be there to express her love and inspiration towards Stevie. She has gone on record as being a big Stevie Nicks fan many times. When Miley recorded with Bret Michaels, he bragged that he produced and wrote several songs with Stevie:rolleyes: because she was such a big Stevie fan, and wanted to do a duet Stevie-eque style.
And Avril, seems like she could go any which way... Pat or JJ fan:shrug:

Lol ! The whole Miley thing is just annoying to me. I don't know why it just is. To me, her loving Stevie is something of a fad. Not true adoration !
Well, she grew up on Stevie Nicks I think. Lots of girls think they can sing like her. Faith Hill's girls sing Stevie Nicks songs according to Faith. Let's face it, Bella Donna is what country is now. Actually, I have feeling Stevie has written more country songs then 80% of country superstars.

I respectfully disagree.
If Bella Donna is what country is now, I wouldn't hate country like I do. I hear country all day at work too, so its not like I haven't given it a chance.

Exactly! Better yet, they should have had someone on O who's a fan, who also considerably a more substantial artist today like Florence Welch. I mean, C'mon! I'm sure Stevie will be gracious and all, but when Sheryl, Billy & Courtney were singing Stevie's praises in the 90's. It was cool, cause arguably they are considerable talents with something to say.
I like you more & more.

I know a lot of people hate Miley and I acknowledge that her behavior and her talent is questionable, but speaking first hand having met her and worked for a few days on the set of one of her movies - she's actually a really sweet, down to earth girl. So I'm not so much bothered by HER (AVRIL is 100% more offensive in my mind) as I am that this seems to just be like a melting pot of the most random people for this show, and it's ending up kind of corny, and just... not what I'd hoped for when I envisioned Stevie's first and final appearance on Oprah.
Edit: I also find it somewhat ironic that Miley is about to embark on a tour entitled 'The Gypsy Heart.'

And I like Miley. And every celebrity like her. They're teenage girls. They have no responsibility to be the upholder of all of your moral standards. On the Launch.com website there is an article stating that Billy Ray Cyrus received a special invitation to attend Stevie's kick-off concert in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Cyrus said "I was blown away by the incredible show she put on," said Cyrus. "I'd recommend it to anyone. She's definitely making the best music she's every made, and I've been a fan for a long time."

Everyone who has been posting who wasn't there is full of ****. I was there, seated in the second row, 3 ft from the stage. Stevie opened with landslide. Sheryl crow came out and sang with her. Stevie had a sit down interview with Oprah. Then joan Jett with Miley Cyrus. Salt n Pepa. Pat Benetar with Avril lavigne. Sister sledge. Everyone came back onstage with sister sledge. then Stevie came back on and closed with secret love. It was awesome. Stevie was the only one with a sit down interview and two spots.
thank you so much for sharing! sheryl sang landslide with her? did stevie have a decent length interview with Oprah?

Here is what happend. Stevie was on first and sang Landslide during which Sheryl Crowe came out and joined her. She was interviewed along with Sheryl and topic discussed included babies, the overnight success of rumours, being an older singer and still peforming. She did tell stories of how during the Rumours tour she and Chris were carfeully watched by the entourage of security guards so they usually just hung out in the hotels, but the guys went off to do who knows what and nothing else was said.
Stevie was the only one who got a sit don interview. All the others just performed and then were briefly spoken too by Oprah.
Joan Jett was next with Miley Cyrus as the surprise guest who sang with her on a medley of her hits.
Salt N' Peppa was next and they just sang with no surprise guest and Oprah talked to them.
Pat Benetar came after them and sang with Love is A Battlefield with Avril Lavigne.
She was asked about her admiration for Pat and Stevie and she said something about the fact that they followed their dreams and made it in the music world and that it was inspiring etc.
Then the big finale was Sister Sledge singing with almost all of the other guests "We are Family"
The show was over but for an oprah.com exclusive they filmed Stevie Nicks singing Secret Love.
I was the lucky one who got vip reserved seats and a backstage Meet and Greet with Stevie. She gave me two autograph's as a present one was a standard publicity photo the other a reprint of some Rhiannon drawing with words on the back. She confirmed that she was going to be playing in Glastonbury and looking to play some places that she had not visited in a while. Naturally I asked her to return to Ottawa. While in the back I saw Pat (Who said to my sister Nice Shoes). Sheryl and her baby were mingling as was Sister Sledge. Oprah walked by and shook our hands.
During a break in filming she took questions from the audience and my brother asked her what her first live concert was and she said James Brown in 1968 when she was 14. She remarked how she lost her shoes at the concert and her father was mad.

His question about the first concert was posed to Oprah, not Stevie. Stevie was with her whole band for secret love. Waddy, Sharon, Lori, Carlos.. It was so cool to see it so up close. It will be interesting to see how it is edited.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. The dates make more sense now. :)
I hope you had a great time too! It will be very interesting for you to see how they edit. I went to a Leno taping last year and when I watched it back just a few hours later, they definitely cut and reordered some things. It's cool to watch it though and know how it really went down.
Was there any evidence that they were taping anything for Oprah's behind the scenes show?

Me too ! Alot of Stevie fans can't stand Sheryl. I like her. I think she genuinely loves Stevie. I like most of her music too. Come On Come On was a great album. Oh by the way, i just checked Stevie's Twitter and Oprah is now following her !!! Lol that's so funny . I wonder what she'll think of Annabel Lee ???
there should be a contest about who guess correctly who Annabell Lee is and the winner gets a free ticket to her solo tour if she tours with perks! :)

I'm guessing it's the god daughter who had the sessions catered with food during the making of the album. Or it could be Stevie's niece.

They were definitely taping for behind the scenes. And they said secret love would only be in Oprah.com, not on the show.

Yes I meant to say it was Oprah that my brother asked the question about the live concert. Stevie said to me that her new album is "her little masterpiece and possibly the best work she ha ever done". She also said that they haven't played a show (Glastonbury) that big since the US festival or some peace festival she talked about.
She was talking away while the Oprah staff wanted to get people out so they could close up for the night.

Soo I didn't get to meet her on oprah, but after the show me and my friend ( her name is Stevie too lol) went sightseeing in downtown Chicago:) so we were up at the John Hancock tower and I saw on twitter that she was spotted at RL ( Ralph Lauren restaurant) with Sheryl crow! So me and Stevie rushed down there cause it was only two blocks away. We were just gonna go in and casually sit down but it was a small restaurant and it was packed! I asked the hostess If I could use the bathroom to get a better look around and as Soon as I passes the hostess station I saw waddy and the whole band , and then Stevie with Sheryl and her kids! We didn't want to interrupt her dinner so we went outside and waited for her... As Soon as she came out I asked if I could get my picture with her and she said she just got dine with dinner and she really didn't feel up to pics she was exhausted and she had a show tomorrow but then she said she would sign my tambourine I had been carrying all day ( since I was hoping to meet her @ oprah) and I told get how awesome she was on oprah, she said , oh you were there!? And I said yea I loved your duet with Sheryl and she said well them your in for a treat tomorrow! ( I told her I was going to concert tomorrow with her and rod) and then she said thank you see you tomorrow! It was very short but so glad I got my tambo signed!

Wow how exciting! I'm so happy for you! I don't think I would have the nerve to ask.
But "too tired" to have your picture taken? Seriously? It's not like she had to stand there while someone drew the picture. I know she meant "she probably didn't look her best and "looked" tired. But still, come on :distress:

Portia, you just gave me a great idea for the Seattle show... I'm going to Twitter-stalk the sh*t out of her and see if I can do something similar! I don't think I'm making it to the show... found 5th row tickets for $200 online but I don't have the money to spend on those right now and I'm not sure if I want to pay to only hear her play a few songs. But that's a great idea!
