But she never performs those songs, and they don't have the well-known hit stature of "Stand Back." I hope the new album will have a song of that nature, then we can look forward to hearing that song on every TV appearence for years to come!

Well there's two possibilities here:

A. Stevie's people want it to be a "surprise" so they had Sarah (who is running the Twitter and Facebook for WB) change the status.

or

B. She did in fact not perform the single, and someone made a HUGE mistake in reporting that she did.

Hopefully, we're looking at possibility A.

Well after just reading this thread from start to finish, it has been the biggest roller-coaster ride of emotions I've had in a long while, with excitement building, then extremely excited about Stevie performing a new song :blob2::blob2:, then it all came crashing down & back to reality. :distress::shrug: I realize that both Rod & Stevie are promoting this mini tour on Ellen, why does she always feel the need to sing the same old safe hits on TV??? Why not throw caution to the wind for once, & go for it.. Sing it loud and proud, ya never know she might even generate interest from people that have never heard that much of her music in the past. This is just another missed opportunity..But after saying that, I'm really looking forward to watching her promo tomorrow on TV, cant wait for her new CD to be released in May..

Stevie had a chance to generate massive interest on one of America's most loved Talk shows and she has blown it. You can't generate interest and excitement by playing one of your old hits. I would not say that Stand Back is exactly rock. More electronica. Edge of Seventeen is rock and from what I heard from the demo, guitars and all, this song is probably more rock than Stand Back.

Sure, it's just a coincidence, but early in the show, one of the songs that Ellen mentioned from the "cd for your pets" was "Unconditional Love." I doubt Ellen even realized Stevie had a song by that name on the Street Angel album.

Another weird coincidence was the "scarey spider" that came out to startle Ricky G. Oooh black widow.

I'm sure it's just me: Ellen included some crazy game show-bit, and someone was answering then "monkey." I was waiting for Jane Goodall "chimpanzee" to show up at any minute.

Stevie looks great, sounded great, and I laughed out loud as she side-glanced and rolled her eyes when Rod Stewart chimed in with the wine glassES near his living room. She was definitely chatty! I enjoyed her telling Rod the results of listening to his one song over and over. :laugh: I never heard that story before.

The lighting for the band was rather dark, but the sound was great. That song's had a lot of practive, from Stevie AND Rod Stewart.

Same, but I'm in Brisbane. You would think that with all these bloody digital channels 9 has now they'd be able to have regular programming on one of them.

And I know, people less than 20 minutes from me are spending the first of many days sweeping mud out of their houses and throwing out ruined possessions - I just don't get to see Stevie much on tv :o

Stand Back: Loved the dramatic look on her face and jerking the mic stand a few times. The beaded fingerless gloves that kept popping in front of the camera was funny. And I'm not sure about the hand gesture during "standing in a line" - I don't know if it was her eyes following her hand or just the gesture itself.
