Meh - I moved into a new place and it is cool, but it has a Publix in the building, which has caused a little weight gain. But, I am back in the gym and working the pounds off. Other than that, I am having a great Summer. I have been on a few little trips and two pretty big ones planned. I thought I would get out to the West coast, but that fell through.

Granted that I'm not sure what to believe and not believe there, I could imagine that (at most) she gets "reports" from her people. And she's of course perfectly capable of having an opinion, making an off-the-cuff remark, etc. And word DOES get around in the community, sometimes.
Not like this grants it all that much "authority" but for whatever very little it's worth, it was two separate people on two different occasions who told me that they had heard "through the grapevine" that Stevie has a low opinion of the site. I think the "concert fiasco" may have a lot to do with that, assuming it's even true.

I tried to get to the bottom of all this, asked Brian questions but I never got answers. I made a post about all the bans in the FAQ forum and the forum is gone... No answers, one less moderator. I really liked SW, I did and it saddens me that it has to be like this :(

Yes, I've met them both but I don't think they'll remember me, it was a long time ago. When I met Lindsey last year he didn't remember me at all which is fine. They meet a LOT of people and I've had my fair share of meeting the whole band. But thanks for the compliments :wavey:

I, too, was banned from Seven Wonders simply for joining another board where alot of my friends went to Chit Chat. I have never had a problem on Seven Wonders, Ever! I'm a paying member and have always followed the rules there, careful not to offend or upset anyone. I have never been disciplined there or reporter or warned. And when I joined the other board it wasn't disrespecting 7W or anyone on it, it was just an alternative to the Chit Chat thread which had been cancelled. I was totally under the impression I could remain on 7W to talk Stevie/Mac and Chit Chat on the new board. Then this morning I find out I'm banned from 7W. No warning, nothing! I'm very hurt by this. I never said anything derrogatory or negative either about 7W or its administrator. And yet I'm banned now too? It's really too bad.

not only do I think we deserve our money back but I think everyone who has finantially supported the board should cease. After all, Brian has stated just yesterday that he pays for the site and its his money that did it all. OOPS you can't see that now as Brian pulled that whole section. Come to think about it, he also removed all posts and banned all peoples who know the truth. He has aimlessly made acusations from his own perspective and killed off those who could and would speak out against him.

Then no one posted in it in awhile (the question was answered, so there really was no reason) someone else saw the off topic posts, responded to them and then it continued on. And about 2 hours later a couple people threadjacked one of the Wizard's own threads that people were still talking about the topic on hand, and nothing happened. :confused:

Thank you for the thoughts. I must have felt them all the way here in NC. The cancer was a breeze compared to the MS. The brain tumor is "maybe" an MS lesion, we are taking MRIs often. The reason they are not sure is that it grew from 04 to 06. I knew something was wrong when I was knocking over displays at Christmas, and stepped on a littled old lady and made her cry. I would fall down if I tried to pick something up and add to that I was working for the WORST boss in the world. Well, I am on disability from BB&T with a sweet check every month until I am 66, tax free, so that part rocks. My dad died last week, and every day is a present, except the ones that I run into an old friend or boy friend and I didnot wash my hair. :laugh:

I'm trying to follow this. I'm a member of 7Wonders. I don't want to get banned. But I also don't want to feel that I can't participate in The Ledge. Is it against 7W policy for me to be posting here right now?

these types of posts are usually PM material. at The Ledge, you automatically get PMs when you sign up. it's not necessary to address every person with a different post to ask how they are. PM them. see?

you should also quote a post you are referring to. and a good rule of thumb is, if there is no post to quote, then you probably need to take it to PM.

He posted today in the "Frequently Asked Questions" forum. He said - and this is an exact quote - that he "had absolutely no choice" but to ban 39 people for creating an independent message board there in which they discussed - well, I won't mention what they discussed because it's none of anyone's business. He also says that this group has been "scheming" to get moderators into position so that they could continue to violate board rules. Believe it or not there may be some truth in that. He also feels that he has been treated with great lack of respect and appreciation.

Here's the thing - believe it or not, I agree with him on the "lack of appreciation" point. He's put a great deal of effort, time and some money into this and I don't think that's really been taken note of or acknowledged.

But respect? It goes both ways. I started noticing a pronounced lack of respect from him towards the board members months ago. A perfect example - while I admit it's a completely minor thing - is that the smiley-faces there were changed from really cool ones to totally sucky ones without telling anyone why. He was repeatedly asked why by several people and yet totally ignored these reasonable requests for information, some of which, I believe, were from supporting board members. While he might have been busy at that time or had other things to deal with, this, I feel, is a typical example of the lack of respect that had been developing between the Wizard and certain board members.
Respect has to be earned. What he doesn't say in his post is that there had been mounting criticisms for months which had not been properly addressed, and yes I'll say it - no offense to anyone, but favoritism shown by the board moderators towards certain board members and discrimination against others. Things were starting to get kind of random - some were banned for certain offenses while others weren't. I'm not making accusations, I'm just trying to give my take on what I see as a situation that developed for months and "snowballed" over time. It seems clear that the Wizard has felt disrespected through all of this and that his feelings have been hurt. But my honest opinion is that (as the Wizard alluded to today), there was a developing lack of respect from the Wizard to the members, also.

My feeling, personally, is that if he no longer enjoys this or doesn't feel appreciated, then rather than close the board down he should "hand the reigns over" to someone for whom it will continue to be fun. But - And I can't believe I'm saying this here -

IT IS ULTIMATELY HIS BOARD.

It's his right to close it if he so chooses. But I hope he won't do that. I hope that he can learn from this experience (and apply the lessons which he should have learned here to Real Life) and move forward. Sometimes it helps to get some distance from things - it IS a game! :shocked: :angel: And perhaps we all need to remember that Stevie and Fleetwood Mac fans - one would hope - are people who are willing to forgive and forget, and to see and emphasize the positive in people, and help them exorcise their "little demons" through constructive criticism rather than personal attacks or being mean.
In the rest of his post he goes on to express his personal anger towards specific members of the board whom he banned.
Anyway that's about it. That's my take on it. Obviously there's other points of view. PEACE y'all!!! :rolleyes:

I just find it odd that he moves all posts with a hint of controversy or questioning of his policies and either deletes the posts or hides it from anyone who is not a member. The issues don't go away just because you choose to hide or ignore them.

He mentioned in his FAQ that he hasn't posted here in a long time but the last time I remember him posting on the Ledge was to attack a member he had recently banned from his own board. Instead of telling other people to grow up he probably should use that energy to grow up himself.

Yeah, he basically made it sound like the whole reason I was on his board was to bash this one? W T F? ANYONE can go read my posts, and very few of almost 10,000 even MENTION the Ledge, maybe 4 to 5? I had some people here that were mean to me, yes, and that was upsetting, so I let that influence my opinion of this board, and I was wrong to do that. So, yes, I thought that board was "better" (as in "nicer people") and I probably did say that. BUT, when I came back here just now, I did apologize, and I did admit I was WRONG about this board...and I hoped you would forgive me, and give me another chance. You can jump to the incorrect conclusions about people, and I am not above making that mistake.
I used to sell Stevie designs on tshirts, and photos from my collection, etc, and some people hated that. and thought I was scamming off Stevie by doing so. I never really thought I was, but eventually I figured it would be best for me to try and turn over a new leaf, so to speak, and STOP selling photos, and I sold all my tshirt making equipment. Now, I do custom clothing and jewelry, and anything I use with Stevie's likeness (photo pendants, etc) are used ONLY with full permission from Herbert Worthington, and I ONLY use his photos.
I really hated that people hated me for selling Stevie shirts, etc. so I stopped.
While I don't expect to be Patty Popular here, and some people will still dislike me for their own personal reasons, I don't think it was fair for Brian/The Wizard to make it sound like I was putting down this board over there, and I ask that you take a look at my posts, if you like, to see for yourself.
He is furious, that after I was banned, I told him off, and called him out on posting a banner of one of his buddies, who is also a scumbag, at the bottom of my posts, and I told EVERYONE about this, and a bunch more people saw it, and realized what a back stabbing low life he is, and also abandoned the ship.
I would like to again, thank you for welcoming me here, and I ask that you judge me on what you find me to be from this point on, and not what people grasping at straws to try and save their drowning ass say. I am very nice, but I am not perfect, and I have F***** up in the past. I admit it.

Authorities were re-asserted, people were called names, battlelines were drawn, alarms were sounded, people were shouted down, and when the dust settled, about 40 or more people had been banished from the "city" and a couple of hundred left with them in protest.

Absolutely.
Everyone butts heads with people in their life, and you either get over it, and move on, or sit and stew about it and ruin your own energy. I do get upset if someone attacks my character or something, and I do speak back. But I think most people do. But I don't hold grudges for long, as I have too much to do to waste time on Negative energy and people. I realize not everyone likes me, and not everyone hates me, and I cannot hope that everyone would like me, that is just silly. But I hope that I have proven myself to people who have gotten to know me somewhat, that I am a fun and nice friend to have. If someone wants to continue not to like me, that is their right and of course fine. I have given people second chances a lot, and sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. With people like Brian/The Wizard, and his co conspirator in the latest tactic, Ocie, they have done far TOO much for me to ever forgive them, or accept them in my life.
They are SCUM, and they treated me and my friends like DIRT, and that I will not forgive or forget. Their lies and attempts at turning people against me, or my friends will NEVER work, and it just makes them scurry, like the little rodents they are, to try and find a new "scheme"...Dream on, silly dreamers.

He is grasping at straws and everyone is starting to see it....even the few who remain over there, trying to bail out their sinking ship. His comments about threadjackers are even more pathetic, as the place was set up strictly as a substitute chit chat forum. No one was trying to get the moderator position to bring down Seven Wonders.....that is the most bizarre, paranoid thinking I have heard from him of late. Go over and join the board and read all the old posts....there was nothing malicious (until he banned them all and they were hurt at first, then got mad :D ) He makes all these outrageous claims but there is nothing to back it up. Threadjackers was a harmless place to chat and I have read nothing that supports his claims of them creating an "anti seven wonders message board".

Thank you, Kelly. You are absolutely right. And I think the fact that he bold faced LIED to the remaining members, claiming he did NOT put Ocie's banner on MY posts after I was banned, can be proven to be a lie very simply.
The original banner is stored on webspace/photobucket or other host sites.
My original banner is this one, stored in my store's webspace:

I noticed the Stevie forum is kind of slow now, but maybe picking up a little as other 7W posters get their feel for The Ledge.

I know Scranton is tonight and Norfolk was on Thursday, but have not heard anything about Norfolk's show yet. I hope some new and old Ledgies will report in for these shows and for the show at Mohegan Sun.

I haven't posted there too much lately for a number of reasons. However, after reading and digesting all that has transpired, I decided to not be the last rat on a sinking ship. So here I be. I hope to make new friendships here and rekindle the ones I've missed from the other board.

It is nice to wake up, each morning! The breathing helps, too...LOL.
Just fine here, getting read for a fun tribute show on the 4th, and enjoying the board here...I haven't got yelled at once, yet, :laugh: so that is good...
I didn't know how welcoming this board would be for "The Others" (I love LOST)...but it is quite refreshing...

I didn't actually leave today. I was gone long before this recent schism; but finally made my way here. I've not been banned, yet, but who knows what'll happen. This would be touching if I cared more. *tear,tear,saliva*

LOST has been renewed for three more seasons. With each season having only 16 episodes each. I'm hoping they can wrap everything up in that time. Yeah, Wednesday night TV kinda blows now. And the February '08 debut is a long way off. Looks like I picked a bad time to stop sniffing glue.

I just read The Wiz's thread regarding the bannings, and people getting in touch with him and pleading the bannings. How is a banned member to get in touch with him? When I read this, I laughed. Glad I am no longer a member there because all of the classic people from there have now come here.:nod: Oh and he said something about not just randomly kicking people out or something without getting strikes..... He did it to me, and he did it to the 39 members or whatever that he banned.

Oh and what's even more sickening...... They still talk about me over there and insult me, and I have no way of defending myself..... Oh well.
