Brian/LiquidBlue was never a big fan of the Ledge. At the beginning of it, Seven Wonders was kind of refreshing being an "uncensored" forum- I mean- that was the whole whoop-de-do of it from the git-go. Pretty pathetic to see it the way it is now.

Eventually the Pack she was a part of went "out of business." It got past the point of no return and people left like rats deserting - well yeah, THAT whole thing. There were warning signs. I think maybe The Ledge is gonna be getting a lot new members eventually. This was probably a fatal blow. It may take a LONG time for it to happen. But I think maybe it's past a certain threshold and it's entered into a spiral that can't be recovered from. There will be outward signs of "health" and the moderators will even tell themselves that everything's hunky dory and they "didn't need those idiots ANY-way." That's what they told themselves in the Cub Scout Pack also.

They "only" banned 39 out of 3,600 people or whatever. Yeah, fine, true - but they were key people that posted frequently. I betcha 80% of those other thousands of people are people who rarely post and will quickly lose interest. The quality of the posts will decrease over time, to the point where it's just kids posting stuff about "GEE Stevie's hair looks GREAT!" Don't get me wrong, of course there's nothing WRONG with discussing that - but I seriously doubt that any of these "thousands" of posters who remain will maintain interest in the board for long if that's ALL that's being discussed. SOME strong posters, BIG Fleetwood Mac fans, will still join up, oblivious to what's gone down here or not caring. But overall the quality of the board will decrease still further - and then less people will join up and pay for subscriptions. Which, by the way, people are already beginning to demand their money back for.

The Wizard, once he realizes, is gonna have to eat some crow here in order to fix his board - and there's the thing.
I hope he'll find the wisdom to just simply say, "Look, mia copa - let's fix this."
Otherwise, my honest opinion, after taking some time to reflect on this and thinking about several similar situations that I've seen, is that this was a fatal blow and that Seven Wonders is in DEEP trouble.

First of all, let me apologize for the profanity.

Last night a whole bunch of people were banned from Seven Wonders for committing the horrible crime of being "in violation of their zero-tolerance policy (being a member of an Anti-Seven Wonders message board)." This is a nice way of saying they're banning everyone their who also happens to post on the Ledge. They even disbanded all of their moderators. I haven't been banned yet, but I imagine my time is coming pretty soon.

This is absolutely asinine. Some of the members who were banned had thousands of posts under their belt, were completely benign, and some of the nicest people I've ever known on the internet. I'm not exactly certain what kind of stick got up the administrator's ass, but I don't want to be a part of it anymore.

i have to say whilst i can't comment on this exact issue, i have had nothing but trouble over there myself~ for some reason a bunch of them must think i am someone else or associate my name w/ someone they have had a problem w/ in the past:shrug: , i can look over there, which i do look at the images & stevie part of it, that is all i can do & wizard too has harrassed me over her at the ledge thru pm, claiming that i am someone else & was in cahoots w/ people over there that i don't think i have ever spoke too, the only thing i could think of why he would hate is cuz i did pm him on some rare photos that i posted over there & another 7Wonderer (who shall remain nameless) took the scans & made copies to sell on ebay & blatantly spoke of it~ it's funny too cuz these same people that are horrible to me on 7W are nice to me everywhere else in stevie circles, i was invited to join over there when it 1st started up & the ledge was down & it all seemed like a place us ledgies could go when the ledge was getting maintanenced & such~ i finally just gave up caring:shrug: ~ & stay over where i feel much more accepted~

I posted nothing Anti-SW on there and I didn't even see it as an anti-SW board. As a member there FROM THE VERY FIRST NIGHT, I am disgusted. I want a personal explanation from Brian. It hurts even more because he has been my friend for years. I am so sad that all of my friendships that I was developing on SW have now been broken up. It makes me sick to my stomach. SW was a place I enjoyed going to everyday, I just can't believe what he did. He basically had his board committ suicide. I think I heard he banned like most of the top posters or something. Im glad I have been posting to both boards, but I am still upset.

I really do feel he's gone and given his board a fatal blow - one can see it already. It's like a desert after a war - people are already sniping at each other for simply giving opinions and talking about silly inconsequential stuff. Just for example I don't see any discussions currently going on concerning the meaning of Stevie's song lyrics - not really. If the prorated refund does not see the light of day and/or some feel that is not enough, if they paid with a credit card, they can call their credit card company and refute the charges on the basis of they are not getting what they paid for in that services were cut off for what could be argues as no good reason, i.e. they broke no clear cut rules, etc., and even if they did, they are still not getting what they paid for. Be honest with the credit card company and you may get your money back. It may not work, but if you feel wronged, it may be worth a shot.

The ordinary route is to ask the vendor to credit the charges. But, I am unsure if communication is possible in this case.

As for 7W - I really like Brian and personally have had nothing but good experiences with him. I am saddened by this turn of events. But, it is his board and his rules. So, I respect his decision no matter what I consider to be correct in this instance.

Being banned really has turned into a great thing,
because so many really great friends and people got banned along with me,
and we have found out what kind of board THAT one really was...
All the good people have either now been banned, or are planning on leaving or have already left...hahaha.
It is funny the board owner/Wizard of Nothing checks this board daily now to see what is being said about him, or his board, and is whining about I never paid to be a "supporting member", and all of those that WERE and got banned...is he going to REFUND all of their payments?
