I'm glad "Sara" lasted longer this time around, but it's sadly still obvious that the song has no chance of lasting, since people are still voting against it out of spite. In my mind, it's beyond obvious that it's the best overall song on the album... musically, lyrically, production-wise, vocally, etc.
Which, of course, made it such a huge target.

My Stevielove is not to doubt. If these first rounds were not targeted at some of the best things on the album AND representators of the enormous brave move this band did after releasing the best-seller of all time, that love would have surfaced already. It really is NOT my choice to play the game like it's played now, but since I turned that knob I'm just glad that the unconditional devotion for Her Majesty is conquered by the I don't get what I deserve mentality of Mr. Underrated.

it's annoying how many times SMAP is getting saved when it is an inferior song. It seems people are starting to save SMAP for the novelty of keeping in the game rather than listening to the terribleness that is SMAP.

I haven't voted for one Lindsey song so far.

The only Lindsey song I've voted for is "Save Me A Place."
I even told the Lindsey Alliance that I'd be happy to help them on a several rounds as long as "SMAP" is gone, but they obviously don't want my help. :p

In fact, I see that some of Lindsey's own diehard fans are even picking off some of his best stuff, in order to save what I think is the single most inferior song on the album. :shrug:

But, from here on out, if I need to vote against one of my favorite songs to save another favorite, I'm going to do it.

Of course, I still think that those of us who dislike "SMAP" should stick with voting against it when we can. It would be a shame for it to squeeze by to the end, simply because we diverted our attentions elsewhere. :nod:

I know Gerald was stung that what he feels is the worst song on 'Tango,' came out the winner. Well, Gerald, that just may happen again, if "SMAP" is allowed to win 'Tusk.'

(By the way, am I alone in appreciating the irony that... of all of Lindsey's most groundbreaking, exuberant, in-your-face, unconventional songs on the album... the slow tempo, dirge-like "Save Me A Place" is the one that people are rallying behind? The one song that's the least like what he was trying to accomplish with the album? Weird. :confused: )

Uh, SMAP hasn't been given immunity AT ALL in this game. It's not like it's been given immunity an umpteenth number of times like the trainwreck of a song that is Sara. It's just unfair that Sara (or any song, for that matter) is getting immunity each time. There should be a limit. It's only right.

I don't remember reading that anywhere in the rules. Usually the songs that are the "strongest" get immunity. ;)

Well, of course it would be gone if it didn't have immunity.
But that has nothing to do with whether or not it's a great song, and everything to do with the fact that there's a faction of people working to ensure that the best song on the album (in my, and many other people's opinions) doesn't make it far enough to go directly against "SMAP," or whichever other Lindsey song makes it to the final two.

Me thinks some people are just too afraid of the competition. ;)
