I suppose it all depends on what criteria people are using to oust songs (although I have my guesses).

In the case of Seven Wonders, I think it's an absolutely smashing track with a brilliant arrangement of instruments & a powerful mix that leaps out of the speakers at you. In many ways, it represents the strengths of the Tango album.

Gerald, I happen to disagree with you on this. GASP!

I've always thought Little Lies was a hell of a catchy song. Vapid? Yes. But so is most of the album, which is thoroughly listenable nonetheless. Some of my favorites already got knocked out, so if it comes down to TITN and Little Lies, either one is fine with me.

sorry i'm so late in the game
first i was on holiday then i got sick
and you come back and there is a 39 pages thread (took me most of the night to read;))
from the survivors i vote of

TANGO IN THE NIGHT

i must say the last couple of hours were an interesting read thanx for the entertaining discusion guys
just my 2 cents on some points made:
I think silver spring is NOT a part of rumours (it were as rembrand were stil alive today and went back to his masterpiece "the nightwatch"and added someone in the painting who was supossed to be there but at the time had no money to be included)
and nothing wrong with adding it as a bonus track (i love the song) but not in the middle of the album
interesting tidbit about book of miracles and juliet i never knew that :)

about stevies work on tango i love all of it and i knew the tango album like johnny long before i had heard the name stevie nicks
and for me to i'm drawn to songs wich are a little cryptic at most
(not like most jessica simpson tracks for example, although i like one of her songs but just as a difirents in lyrics example)

about covers ,it took me a long time to get over the cover of "dreams by the Corrs) but i crinch just as much when i hear songbird by Eva Casidy so i don't think chris is more coverable than the rest

i read allot of stuff i wanted to commment on but can't remember em all
wanna move on to other threads asweel tonight so i'm not going back and read em all again

yeah it's good to be back :p

Fleetwood Mac's "Book Of Miracles," was based on the main melody from "Juliet," with additional music written by Lindsey.

There's a very rough outtake of "Juliet" out there (persumably circa 1986), which was submitted for 'Tango,' and apparently it was seriously considered for the album, since Lindsey built up an entire arrangement, etc., but for whatever reason the song was left unfinished, and that instrumental version was released as "Book Of Miracles."

And, as you know, "Juliet" was eventually re-worked and released on Stevie's 'The Other Side Of The Mirror.' :)

I can't believe you people voted off Tango, my favorite song BY FAR on this album. Heavy sigh. I guess I'll vote for Little Lies to win.

Isn't It Midnight!!!! I'm so happy it stayed around ;)

Don't vote for Little Lies! It's not worthy!

Now which one should win? The "banal disco offender that sacrifices Chris' identity in favour of being acceptable for disc jockeys"? Or the one that "sounds as if it was written by a well-oiled robot"? (<- both review quotes).

I vote for "Little Lies". It sounds like a Finnish schlager. A schlager I can enjoy without lager.

Isn't It Midnight!? You've got to be kidding me. It's one of the least interesting songs, next to Stevie's songs, that is, on the record.

I vote that one off. So Little Lies should win. Not that it matters, the best songs already were voted off.

Yup. I can't believe TITN is gone.

I'm going with Little Lies.

No, Come is pretty bad. But I love it live. ;)

The one song I could never get into is D.W. Suite.

Now we're in agreement :woohoo:

Whaat!? You prefer Midnight?

I don't get it. At least Little Lies doesn't pretend to be anything but a bouncy little pop ditty. Isn't It Midnight pretends to be a rock song but fails.

It's the truth, the winner is:

:( Why does everybody critizise my voting?? Nobody likes me, sniff... ;)

If I could, I'd vote for Big Love, grmbl. But between these two, at least I haven't heard IIM that much that I can dream it.
Or maybe I just want to be original :]

Wow, it comes down to two great Christine songs, and all everyone is doing is grumbling.

Talk about sour grapes.

Well, I say, Hooray For Christine! :blob1:

People were grumbling during Rumours, people have been grumbling all along on this one, too. Grumbling's the name of the game, my friend.... :) That's nice that you're happy for Christine, but you can't expect everyone to have your good cheer.... :wavey:

so Jake, what's next. I thin Tusk would really rock. I don;t thinkt hat one has a clear winner like Tango did. Or we could do the SYW tour. Or whatever you have up your sleeve.

I think once we covered albums or tours we could do other things as well, ie best guitar solo, best F-Mac cover, best studio-to-live translation, etc. But once we did that, we'd have to start nominating things to make up a list first and that could get controversial :-)

Personally I think "Tusk" would be a lot of fun, with the extreme variety of songs on that album. Lots of great face-offs based on taste.

The problem with those is "What Do You Include in those  I mean when you do an album or a tour everything you include is there. But with something like a guitar solo, what guitar solos get included. And what would we consider a guitar solo.

Right, exactly. We'd need an official 'panel of judges' to decide what qualifies in the first place, hehehe. But I think that (aside from the usual 'man I can't believe *insert song here* didn't make this list!' post) no one will be too angry if we have a 'top ten' to start with and just roll with. It'd be interesting just to see. For now, I personally say bring on "Tusk" survivor and watch the drama unfold

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

I ONLY voted off LL in previous rounds, and didn't wanna choose between the two in the winnersround. So if I did choose against LL the Ulcer would not have won.

I dedicate this total dumb action of me to......Carnevaca.
