Tango in the night definetly, I really love that album, the only clunker is Mystified but even that is ok.
I give lindsey credit for making me liek this album, he's usually the one I have to be careful about, if I love his stuff and where his head is musically I love the whole thing most of the time. Stevie sort of was off on it though, I can just imagine if she was on top of her game as well! wow. |

Rumours does it for me. I put it on front to back and when its over I am flooded with so many emotions and a feeling that I just heard a magical piece of music.

It's hard to pick between Tusk and Say You Will. I can easily listen to the latter all the way through, while it's hard to do that with the former. So maybe my nod would go to Say You Will. Tango in the Night is a close third, only because I think Stevie's contributions were sub-par.

I posted most of this elsewhere awhile back, but I will also post it here as it relates to this topic, etc. So, for those who have previously read this, sorry for the repeat.
![]() Here is my take. I grew up with this music as I was born in Nov. 1966. Consequently, although I had these records when they originally were released, I did not truly get the adult orientation of the songs until Mirage and then only after a good heart trampling by the most popular and beautiful girl school and our five minute conversation when she asked for help with math and I fell head over heels (OH YOUTH!!!). So, although I like all of the FM records except Time, all of the songs on Mirage will always have more meaning. Certainly, similar things happened from then until now. But, all of the songs on Mirage will always be "it" for me in the long run. I must say, that although SN has pretty much always looked good if not great in my eyes, I think that she looked her "best" (whatever that is) suring the Mirage time period - that hair with that white outfit in the concert video and the videos for Hold Me and Gypsy send/sent me into another world!!! ![]() But, hey - to each their own. |

Tusk gets my vote. I wish the band had kept getting weirder afterwards, like Lindsey has said he wanted.

Tusk, Tango and Rumours are the ones that get the most play, so...those are my faves. Rumours is an extremely strong album, Tusk is Lindsey's masterpiece and Tango is my 80's fix.

Right now, I'm in Say You Will mode, so it is tough to even listen to any others.
For me, though, Say You Will & Tusk are my two faves that have included the people who are currently in the band (plus Christine, in Tusk's case). Maybe it is because those two have so much material that I can program the albums with the tunes I like, leave out the ones I don't particularly care for and STILL have a full album's worth of tunes. I used to like Behind The Mask A LOT, until I just recently heard outtakes from the album and now have the perspective of "what could've been"...the album has now paled considerably. My favorite Fleetwood Mac albums overall are still the ones before Buckingham & Nicks joined. |

I can't stop listening to Say You Will either. Could be just because it's new, but I also think it's better than anything since Tusk for S&L. Tango is great, but basically it's all about Christine for me. So I say SYW and Tusk tie for top at this point. We'll see after the newness wears off though.

Rumours, mostly because of the production and sequencing. IMO Stevie's voice hadn't yet reached its best, Christine's songs are better on other albums, but as a whole, it just works. Again, I think it has to do with the storytelling & the way they switch back and forth, and also the way they're on each other's songs more. It's like, how bitter can they really be when the object of the song's hatred is singing along? There's something uplifting in that.
