Civil war version. Stevie always fits so well in eras past.

Definitely the Civil War version. lol. I love anything to do with the Civil War era. But I agree, it's the dancers that make the other one cheesy.

Both clips were tacky beyond belief so I would rather she had scrapped both of them. I would have preferred that the video have a theme of substance... something like the portrayal of Stevie as a prison inmate being hassled at bedtime... just a thought.

![]() I always thought the Civil War theme would have fit "If Anyone Falls" better (though that video, happens to be my favorite from Stevie's solo output). I don't mind the official version of the "Stand Back" video... really, anything can be considered cheesy, when it's so relatable to the era from which it originated. But for what it is, and for when it was made, it's a cool video. I think it was Paul Fishkin who said, "we decided to make a dance video for a dance song"... and that's all it was meant to be. Nothing earth-shattering... nothing that was going to change the world... just some interesting visuals that will catch your attention. Personally, I think all of Stevie's videos are fun in their own way, and possess a certain charm... except maybe "Whole Lotta Trouble," but even it has its moments. I feel the same way about the longform videos for 'Live At Red Rocks,' and 'Tango In The Night.' I dig all of the post-concert close-ups, and the "special effects"... because they're something different from the standard concert video. I find them interesting and enjoyable even to this day, but maybe I just take a less-jaded view of these types of things. Johnny Stew
