One of the things that was so exciting to me about the dance tour was the group's decision to reproduce "Silver Springs".
On this new tour, it sure would be nice if FM decided to include some slightly more obscure "album" tracks just for the die-hard fans. I mean, they are still going to be able to play a TON of hits. But I'd really like to see them step out of the standard "default" set list of all the usuals and include cool stuff like "I Don't Wanna Know", "Can't Go Back", "Book of Love", "That's Alright", "Storms", "Beautiful Child", and maye some great Buckingham-Nicks stuff like "Frozen Love", "Crying in the Night", and "Crystal". I also hope they make "Sisters of the Moon" and "Eyes of the World" part of their regular setlist on this tour and not just something they occasionally throw in. of course, all of this in addition to some "tango" stuff - see my thread on that. The way I see it, with as much as they are probably going to be charging, a good 2.5-3 hour show should be what the fans get. They could even do what Springsteen does and have a split set with an intermission - and NO opening act, i.e "An Evening with Fleetwood Mac". I know I'm dreaming here, but at least it's fun to talk about david |

You must be reading our mind, David!!!! We ALL want that to happen...we want them to do away with the safety net of playing the same ole' standards and branch out to play a DIE HARD FAN kind of concert!!
Beautiful Child, Storms, Tango, and OH YEAH, Frozen Love would ROCK!!!!!! As long as Lindsey does ISA, I'm okay with WHATEVER ELSE being played....no matter HOW obscure (Make Me a Mask, anyone? )!! I've never seen them in concert so this will be a night to remember for me, and I wanna be surprised and entertained although I have NO DOUBT that that will happen...even IF they play the same old, same old....but I hope they don't.

I have a feeling they may do Frozen Love - especially with all the talk Lindsey's had about how this is a return almost to Buckingham Nicks - it seems inevitable that they do that song. Or maybe they'll do Don't Let Me Down Again - they've done that one on some of the tours in the '70s. But -I'd much rather them do Frozen Love - I have a tape of when they played that at FM shows way back when and IT IS INCREDIBLE.
And "I Don't Want To Know" would be so wonderful to hear, too!! Now I am getting excited!!! |

Yeah, I'm willing to bet $$ they'd do Don't Let Me Down Again, again. It sounds so good live on the 1980 live album. I think Stevie can squeeze out most of those notes, all of them if they bring it down a couple of keys, and that's usually good enough. I think they'll also definitely do Twisted. I'd explode if they did Frozen Love live. Wow.
![]() Does anyone suppose they'll do any songs that Christine played an important role in? **ducks** No, really, hear me out. Of course they probably won't do any Christine songs, but I'm thinking specifically about World Turning. Mick's trademark solo (which I admit I really dig, as much as I'm pissed at Mick right now) is a big part of that song live. I don't know. Sorry if I'm pissing anyone off by bringing this up. -Sonia

I really don't see why they COULDN'T do a few of Christine's songs, I just wonder that they will. World Turning wouldn't be too hard to do with just Lindsey and Stevie singing -- Lindsey even does the first verse of the song, so why not? However, I think they would just do the drum solo in Not That Funny as they did for the Mirage tour (I don't think they did World Turning on this tour) and The Dance. But I can imagine World Turning, Don't Stop, Say You Love Me...even if they have to alter the key, it wouldn't be too hard for them to do. I'm sure many people still want to hear a few Christine songs...I know even my dad was a little upset because he likes many of Christine's songs. But I would think it'd have to be a choice between doing rare LB and SN songs or throwing in some Christine songs, and I think they'll at least do one -- probably Don't Stop.

I'm guessing that the only Christine song they'll do will be Don't Stop (just as the only Lindsey they did when Lindsey wasn't in the band was GYOW). Don't Stop is the only real crucial one that they'll probably need to do, and since Lindsey sings lead on a good portion of it anyway, it seems logical.

I also think Fleetwood Mac should mix it up when it comes to their set list which has been pretty formulatic since the 70's. I mean, all those songs they play are great and we love them, but it would be a breath of fresh air to hear other things. I would love to hear "Storms" " Angel" and "Sara" from Stevie, and some Buckingham-Nicks stuff like "Dont Let Me Down Again" and "Frozen Love". It would be good to hear "Hypnotized",even though Lindsey has said he hated to play Bob Welch's songs. As far as Christine, there is no way she can be replaced onstage. It has been a little sad to hear some of Mick and Lindsey's comments on how they are doing fine without her. That may be true as far as they are concerned but I for one will miss her presence on tour, her wonderful vocals and harmonies and her music. SInce they couldnt possibly do any justice to Chris's songs perhaps they could play some of her best over the PA right before they come out and play in tribute to her. That would be cool. They have to remember that despite Stevie's star power, Lindsey's production and all, Christine wrote MOST of their hits. It was "Over My Head" back in 1975 got my attention.

David aka Lindsey Rocks...
I agree with you, despite your unnecessary dig at me for my "wasteful thread." Still, I don't have high hopes for them to shake up the set list too much. Although, given the circumstances it should change somewhat, with Christine gone. And, it was encouraging to see Stevie's last tour's set list change a bit. But history shows they are not a band that gets very adventerous with their set list. I think they try hard to please the masses, but forget that real fans would welcome more obscure songs. Other bands do it all the time!! I was shocked when they included "Brown Eyes" in their Mirage set list. How many times has that happened -- when a song from a past album which had never been played live was included in a tour for a newer album? Unprecedented! I can't think of any other instance of that! Can anyone?

David, your threads have inspired me to start a new one about how much of the setlist should be new album stuff

I AM hopeful for "Don't Let Me Down Again." That song ROCKS! It's the only song I think they'll play from BN (if they play any). But perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised! What I really hope is that Lindsey will play a nice acoustic "Crystal," just him and a guitar. That would be terrific. But, again, I doubt it. What can I say, I keep my expectations low and hope for the best. That way I'm not disappointed! Quote:

..."Fireflies"? I think that song has an impressive range of energy, that Stevie can easily reach the notes without changing the melody that much, and that it would be a fair treatment to a terrific song that never got the attention it deserved.
I'd be happy if I ever hear that song live. ![]() Song of the moment - Second Hand News

They might do Long Distance Winner, since that was on Stevie's boxed set.
