Ok I just had a wierd little thought. Say you were in a band, and Stevie had given you permission to cover one of her songs. Which one would it be, and why?
I will post my choice later...I have to think about it (sorry if this is stupid..I just thought it would be cool to see what people would say... )Dan

Way too hard to pick one...but I would pick out of (in no order):
1. Fall from Grace 2. Gold Dust Woman 3. Whole Lotta Trouble 4. Edge of 17 5. Enchanted Now that I think about it, I think I'd prefer Edge of 17 over the rest...but I would love to do any of these.

![]() I'd go Running Through the Garden! Ohhh yeah! Ugh - I just recalled this hideous rendition I did of Dreams in a karaoke room in Japan last year! So I sure wouldn't choose that. And I did 'Don't Stop' - that is soo hard to sing, especially "It'll be" (better than before) and the outro "Ooooh" !!! I feel so sorry for the poor ppl in the room with me!!

I do a mean Edge of 17 and a meaner Landslide. But, I have to say I love singing Seven Wonders (Pharaoh - Tara - Never - Ever - Whatever -
). Fortunately for everyone else, no one will ever give me a recording contract so I can unleash my vocals on the world. ![]() |

The only problem with me covering a Stevie song is that I would need the key lowered. Stevie's voice is low enough that I can sing some of the parts of her songs in the same octave, but her voice is JUST high enough for me to be unable to reach the higher notes in the same key. For instance, I can sing the verses of Every Day in the same octave, but once the chorus comes I have to drop down an entire octave because it's too high for me to sing. Now, I could just sing the whole song down an octave, but that kind of makes it sound a little boring. I've tried Edge of 17 at an octave lower, and it wasn't bad (I was told), but I think it would sound better if it was lowered a key or two and I could reach the higher notes, because straining for higher notes gives the song more power imo (ex. Silver Springs). Anyway, enough about me...

Well, I was in a band, and she didn't give us permission and we only played in bars and coffee shops, but I got a couple of covers in...
We tried to do Angel, but it just didn't sound great...so then I wanted to do The Aparment Song...so we did that one...it was a ton of fun! We only did three covers total though out of our whole setlist, so that's the only Stevie I could sneak in... in the future I'd wanna do... Storms If you ever did believe Touched by and Angel |

In my band at school I am coloratura sopranon so I can get really high and I have a naturally high voice and Stevie's is a little lower, but I love to sing her earlier stuff, like rhiannon. But i would love to do Gold Dust Woman and Sara cuz I can really relate to those songs.

Well I'm still not 100% sure which song I would do (why did I limit it to one song?
lol) but I know for sure that it wouldn't be one of Stevie's better known hits (i.e. edge, standback, sara, etc..) just because, well, I don't know really. I have narrowed it down to either That's Alright or Think About It. Mainly because a. I can handle them well vocally (at least I think I can) b. I really love these two songs. and c. they have a really cool kind of country vibe to them that I like. Not that I would be in a country band, but anyway. If I had to choose, I think it would be That's Alright. Probably not a song most people were thinking of, eh? Dan ![]()
