Smile Baby Doll

Hi everyone I'm new here, glad to be around fellow Stevie Fans (I really don't know any). Just a little info on me, I'm an 18 yr. old male college student, maybe not the typical Stevie fan but hey she is awseome. Ok, concerning the song Baby Doll, I know this was an outtake, does anyone know what session it was taken from? I personally think it is an amazing song and I am sad that it was not included on an album! Also, does anyone have a good copy of this song that they could send to me? Mine is all scratchy. Thanks.

*WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE POST HERE? I'M FEELING LEFT OUT!

Default Baby Doll

Baby Doll was originally intended for either Wild Heart or Rock a Little...Joe Walsh plays guitar on it.

I love the opening line..."My girlfriend saw my husband, he's coming across town to get me, He's been gone for 5 years or more and expects me to be waiting..." Wonder what she was referring to when she wrote THAT?!

I have a recording of it with the Heartbreakers (Stan Lynch, Michael Campbell, Benmont Tench & Ron Blair) backing Stevie up. It sounds like one of the cycle of songs she did with the Heartbreakers in April 1980 (including "Outside the Rain") or in February 1981 (including "The Dealer") -- in that general era.

Also, there is a "Baby Doll" demo with drum machine, synth pad & farfisa & multitracked Stevie vocals from the Modern master reel-to-reels that got transferred to CD-R by fans. I don't know when this was recorded but it sounds old -- back when she first started her solo career. This one has a bunch of different lyrics, like "no speed limit/this is the fast lane" & "once in awhile/those eyes."
