I've got to say that this has to be one of my favorite songs from TOSOTM. But in my opinion, it is also one of her very most cryptic works. I know that Stevie is often criticized for writing vague lyrics that don't often make sense, and this song has to be the definitive example of that. But that aspect of her writing is really one of the things that I enjoy most about her songs -- because it allows each individual to interpret them in his or her own way.
Anyway, the only problem is, the more I listen to Juliet, the less I feel able get anything from it. For the life of me I have no idea what she's trying to say in this song (even though like I said, it is one of my favorites...go figure.) So I was wondering if anyone knew any inside information on the song, or had a personal interpretation that they would like to share. I'd be interested in hearing anything. |
