Question Outside the Rain vs. Sable on Blonde

Okay, I have a question...why did Stevie use Outside the Rain to segueway into Dreams instead of Sable on Blonde which is OBVIOUSLY a Dreams twin? I mean, during the Wild Heart Tour, anyways, since the song didn't come out until the WH album. Is it because of the lyrics and not the music or what?

For the Dreams medley, Stevie Nicks could have used Rhiannon, Sisters of the Moon, How Still My Love, Blue Lamp or even some others. They're all similar enough to medley together.

She said in an interview for "Bella Donna" that "Outside the Rain" was her Fleetwood Mac song. I think she meant that it was the psychic connection she wanted to retain on her first solo album to her band. It had the Fleetwood Mac sound to it. The Heartbreakers I bet were glad to hear that. Not!

I think Sable on Blond sounds so much like Dreams(the beginning anyway) that it might have been too repetitive...and although OTR is a great song, i was SO glad when she dropped it from TISL this year...since she doesn't play around with her setlist at all it gets a little boring(or maybe i just saw her too many times,lol..) i dunno...that is just my humble opinion..

you kinda answered yourself here. Why would she have two songs that are sounding so alike so back to back? right! It would sound dumb and repeatative. I like sable on blonde though.

Smile Guess so.

Yeah, I guess so, it would sound repetitive. Oh well

I read somewhere that Stevie said "Outside the Rain" was like
"Dreams 2", a kind of continuation on that same theme...which I guess you can tell if you listen to the lyrics

I was actually sad to see OTR go from the setlist last year. It's a great song (even though the album version sounds unfinished to me...or too raw or something, I dunno, I can't explain it) But even though the setlist is always the same, the OTR/dreams medley was like some kind of tradition. And when I listen back to some of the TISL shows I have, it seems like she really pushed her voice to the limits in some parts of that song. I thought that it really demonstrated her range well. Maybe that's why she dropped it because it became too difficult for her... but who knows.

I also remember reading somewhere that OTR was like "dreams 2" so I always figured that was the reason that she put the two together in concert.
