Default World Turning live (fave clip)

I was looking for WT live videos. The first one I saw, years ago, was the one from the Shake the Cage Tour, 1987. I do like Mick's solo with that vest. Don't know when was the last time he used it; in the Unleashed tour he didn't use it anymore. In 1997 I think WT wasn't included in the setlist, and in the OWTS 2014 tour he said it he hadn't used it for a long time cause it was too hot to wear it, kind of a burning sensation.

But I think the one I like the most is one of the very early performances. The Midnight Special clip.

It doesn't really work for me. It's a real David Brent over-reach. I think he had the good sense to stay seated behind his drumkit during the OWTS tour. Don't get me wrong, I otherwise really enjoyed watching Mick play- he always seemed to be having such a great time-but the World Turning solo was just too way too self-indulgent, and was too late in the show to be much of a useful opportunity to visit the gents. I wish he could have taken a cue from John, whose one brief and perfect moment of total attention told us all we needed to know.

I've always loved this performance.

Yes, this has got to be my all time favorite live version of World Turning. Great vocals by all three singers.

The vest playing was cool on the 1987 tour but I found it annoying and stale on the BTM tour in 1990. I don't think he used it again?
I can't explain it but World Turning is so much better (IMHO) on the record than live performance. That's usually not the case with Mac music. The studio version has many things lurking under the surface when you listen. I wish it had an extended jam at the end. IMHO its in the top 4 best songs of the White Album. Its magic cannot be translated live. The Midnight Special is the best live version though.

I love the solo version on the 1984 MTV Special. They jam!

The more out of control “World Turning” is, the more I like it. I love when it goes in a million different directions. The Wembley rendition on the deluxe LIVE suits me fine.

Mick did that solo with that awful vest on the 1995 Time tour. more than half the crowd walked out to get drinks and use the bathroom. it was depressing. i hate that solo but i did feel bad for him. but he should have read the room lol..that tour was not the place to do that solo.

Exactly!! Imagine him doing that at the Peter Green Tribute?

I do have a vague recollection of that when the band played SunFest in West Palm Beach in 1995. I will never forget when Billy closed the set with Go Your Own Way. I thought to myself wow, I never thought I would hear the Mac play that song again. Second thought was, I bet it's the last time I hear it live.

P.S. I hope the surgery went well

I saw The Time Tour, and I don't remember the vesturbation. But, that's 29 years ago, so...
