Default Mystified

I had my Tango in the Night box set on rotation today. I really do love Mystified and its alternative version . It Is another great Buckingham produced track. All five of these albums are just so freaking amazing that Lindsey produced for the Mac from 1975-1987. I really wish we had a couple more releases over those years. So so close with the BuckMcVie album.

I dig "Mystified"--now. When I first heard it in 1987 I thought, "meh." But now it has captivated me. The chords are just unusual enough to lend some intrigue to the ultra-simple melody. As with so much on Tango, less is more, and space is the place.

It took me decades to appreciate Mystified, and Only Over Ewe. But I finally got it. 18yo me was very different that from 25yo me, now.

I've always loved this tune. I really like the early demo and the other versions where Lindsey isn't even on it. It's a great creation by Christine.

I may sound crazy trying to find Fleetwood Mac everywhere, but I find a resemblance to Fairytale from Shrek I, with Mystified Instrumental from Tango Deluxe.

Fairytale

Mystified Instrumental

A really beautiful song. An instant favourite of mine. Unlike most, I am really attracted to moody ballads and do not judge a song on whether it makes me snap my fingers.

Oh, I love Mystified. It's one of my favourite tracks on Tango, a real moment of musical communion between Christine and Lindsey; their voices blend to the point where you can't really tell them apart. It has a dark, sensual feel, which I think is a big part of the mystery of Tango. It's an album that shouldn't hang tgether at all, given the circumstances of its creation, but somehow it does.

I love the simplicity of the melody and the lyrics - not at all easy to do - and the softness of Christine's voice. Lindsey's two guitar solos are gorgeous too.

It's such a soothing, calming song, full of hidden depths - simplicity and complexity combined.

Mystified deserves another post from me on this thread.

I love it's elegance and crispness.

Simple and lovely; an oasis of calm in the madness; a faint echo here and there of Show me a smile.

It's saturday morning. I'm listening my Christine Mac+Solo playlist.

I liked Mystified immediately. But it is not in my top list of soft songs like Warm Ways, Songbird, Over & Over and One More Night are. And from Mirage, I like Wish You Were Here, but, I think I have already mentioned this, I still don't like Only Over You. All those songs are in my playlist anyway, including the demos and alternate versions from Deluxe and Expanded editions.

Yes, Only Over You is definitely my least favorite song of hers from the 1975-1987 albums.

I like it better than One More Night.
