Default Blues pioneer John Mayall dies at 90

John McVie and Rick Vito both played with John.

Peter Green (who replaced Eric Clapton) played in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, together with John and (briefly) Mick. It really was the nursery that produced Fleetwood Mac. John Mayall bought Peter some studio time as a present and Peter, John and Mick cut some tracks including an instrumental that Peter named Fleetwood Mac after John and Mick.

So without John Mayall, none of us would be here on the Ledge praising or cursing our favourite band.

he had an incredible knack for recognizing talent. 90 is a good long life though, he seemed to live it well.

He also let john and chris stay at his house for a while when the band moved to california... where john joined the brain damage club by jumping off the 3rd floor naked into the pool.

Very sad news. But living to 90 isn't too bad. He was such an inspiration to so many musicians. I saw Eric Clapton do a tribute on Tik Toc to John a few minutes ago. And also Mick said a few words on his Instagram/Facebook page.

Cool video.
I read Christine dated Spencer Davis in the early 60s. They even worked together in Birmingham.
