One very interesting point that the new Stevie bio ('Mirror in the Sky' by Simon Morrison) makes is that the mysterious 'All Over You' (which many, including myself, thought was a collab between Stevie and Prince) is actually Sandy Stewart and her musical partner David Munday (he was on her 'Cat Dancer' album).
This was told to Morrison by Rick Nowels (pgs. 102 and 210). Sandy and David, being Prince fans, were obviously inspired by him. That this song (then still thought to be by Stevie and Prince) was considered for 'Enchanted' was a error on Atlantic Records' part, Morrison writes. We’ve been wondering about that for years. Some said it was Stevie, some said it wasn’t. I’m convinced it was Sandy and David.

and here I thought Dave Munday was one of Prince's aliases.

Interesting
It does not sound like Stevie for the most part but there are parts that do sound like her. It does sound like it could be a Prince track though. Now the mystery I want to know is if Stevie is singing back up on Dont Come Round Here No More. When the song was released I was happy to hear her. Then I was in shock she was not on the credits and was told she was not on the song. Its speculated she could be on the song but not credited. Sharon Celani sings back up and I wonder the familiarity I have with Sharon's voice with Stevie makes me hear her. You know Lindsey could have done a better job convincing everyone All Over You was Stevie ![]()

I'm so glad this has been cleared up. As a hugely dedicated fan of both Prince and Stevie, it's always been evident to me that this involved neither performer.
Just listening to the man's background vocals, you can tell it's not Prince. And the music is supremely unfunky. There's a site (princevault.com) exhaustively dedicated to all known Prince recordings (released and otherwise), and there has never been an entry for this track. No one I'm aware of in the online Prince community has ever seriously suspected this to be a Stevie/Prince collaboration. But there is a known collaboration ("I Know What to Say to You") between Prince and Stevie that I would love to hear: http://www.princevault.com/index.php..._To_Say_To_You Last edited by brad975; 11-04-2022 at 04:49 PM.. |

^Interesting… and it sounds like the author(s) of that Prince vault site have heard the song, since they quote its lyrics and describe who sings what. I wonder if we’ll ever get to hear it.
