Kathy Griffin mentions Stevie
I'm not a big fan of comedy that just makes fun of other people, but in case you are interested...
Q: I want to hear more about the night you hung out with Stevie Nicks and Chrissie Hynde and they were trying to offer you advice. A: That’s one of the stories I love telling in this show. I always thought it was important to take about 10 minutes out of the show to walk people through my interrogation. I started doing it overseas, and you could hear a pin drop. So there’s this 10-minute chunk of show that’s really heavy. But I think it’s essential to talk about it, and it’s essential for me to pepper that part of the story with funny anecdotes. I had never met Chrissie Hynde. She didn’t know who I was, so Stevie was sort of trying to explain the photo, and that was funny in itself. It’s right in my lane. It’s got the celebrity element. It’s got an unexpected element. All that stuff is ripe for my act. https://www.sfchronicle.com/music/po...-sfgate-result |

Is great that Stevie pops up where you least expect her to. First LeAnn Rimes duet and now this. Hopefully this continues with the new FM tour coming up. |

I saw Kathy’s show about two weeks ago here in Portland. She had a whole bit on Stevie (and Chrissie). I was very excited.

Maybe she'll hold up Stevie's decapitated head with
blood streaming down it. That kind of humor is so funny. |

Kind of surprised that nobody has complained that this is on the wrong forum.

SteveMacD,
Don't you know there aren't any rules here unless you're on the wrong side of a political issue. |

Oh, so doing that to a MAN is acceptable. I see....

No my point was that neither are acceptable. I like Kathy Griffin well enough but honestly didn't care for her "art" photo. I'm sure her story about Stevie trying to explain to Chrissie Hynde is funny though.

I don't like this trend of "Make one mistake and your career is ruined" thing we have going on now. The angry mob swarms on Twitter and talk shows, demanding blood; the ones in charge hastily give them whatever they demand (which is always extreme), desperate to avoid threatened boycotts and accusations of [insert bad thing]-ism; the righteously indignant (who themselves have surely never said or done anything they regret) move on to punish the next sinner. However, that's a topic for another forum... one that I don't really wish to venture into!
I do think it's odd that Stevie came up in a promotional interview. Is she really that big a part of the show? |
