Default Will Stevie be on Dave Stewart & Adam Levine's new show "Songland"?

Dave Stewart is working with Adam Levine (among others) on a new TV show "Songland"...If it makes it to television do you think Dave & Adam will try and get Stevie on the show?

The Billboard write up...

NBC's next big music show could come from those who've helped make The Voice a hit.

The latter's executive producer Audrey Morrissey and coach Adam Levine are teaming with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Dave Stewart on a pilot called Songland. As its title suggests, the project is predicated on the simple premise that the songwriter is king in the music business.

While artists make money on songs that they record, songwriters have multiple avenues and points at which they can generate hefty revenue from their works. If ultimately ordered to series, Songland will pull back the curtain on the song marketplace and the power brokers within it. The project is expected to feature everyday people with compelling stories who get the opportunity to pitch original compositions to the music industry's biggest producers and artists all hunting for the next global smash.

Adam Levine's Best Shirtless Moments

Songland is being produced by Live Animals in association with Dave Stewart Entertainment and Levine's 222 Productions. The three-time Grammy winner will be an executive producer on the project alongside Morrissey, Stewart, Live Animals' Ivan Dudynsky and Levine's manager-turned-producing partner Jordan Feldstein.

It sounds like to me they are focusing the show on pop songwriters... not singer/songwriters. I know there are a handful of hit making songwriters in the entertainment industry who seem to crank out most of the top 40 singles over the past couple of decades. The caveat is, they only write the songs- other artists record them. Stevie's not really a part of this whole phenomena at all.

Now if they do a showcase on how actual singer-songwriters essentially double their income by being both writers AND performers, then that's Stevie's corner of the market for sure.

that's precisely why the pop tarts of today are disposable. They are just channels...singing other people's songs with no emotional connection. Stevie, on the other hand, wrote or co wrote her songs and then performed them in a completely unique and personalized way. That's why she's a legend and is still around after all the years. She connected with her audience through her connection to the songs themselves. This doesn't happen much anymore in the world of pop. Today hit songs are manufactured, like on an assembly line. Writer, Producer, Performer, which is why most of today's hits all sound the same and have no soul whatsoever. Welcome to the Machine...
