Magical and Mystical Elements of 24 Karat Gold and other albums!

[GypsyVisions]

We all know Stevie's albums are always chalked full of references to magical, mystical (and mythical), and spiritual (even nomadic) elements -plus fairytale/folklore - crossed with poetic imagery and atmospheric details. The combination of any or all of these things is a big part of what makes her music and overall artistic presentation so unique (and for some of us, soooo good!)

We're often (or sometimes) hearing direct references to:

souls, ghosts, angels, gypsies, dreams/dreamers, shadows,
stars, the sun, the moon, moonlight, mountains, queens, spells,

Plus stuff like (off the top of my head):

"black moons in those eyes"
"Shadows of my soul..."
"You think you hear demons"
"And I was starving child, and we were magic"
"Filling the air with colors and wind..
...lift you up to God"
Rhiannon rings...

Some of her albums contain these elements to varying degrees. I think Street Angel & Rock A Little succeed the least in containing these elements - but they still manage to be up to form for the most part...I think.

Fleetwood Mac generally always have magical Stevie contributions (least of all, Tango in the Night.)

In Your Dreams was big time magical (even using the word 'magic' at one point)
as was Bella Donna, The Wild Heart, The Other Side of the Mirror, Trouble In Shangri-La - and it looks like 24 Karat Gold will be right up to form as well.

We have (presumably, if the following words aren't cut) a lot of great references scattered throughout 24 Karat Gold, such as:

"Golden wings in the sunset...take me back." (Um...yeah, even if that's magic speak for a fancy airplane.)
"Starshine, you used to be silver..."
"Mistress of my fate..."
"Keeper of the time..."
"The sands of time...like shattering glass, and so on..."
"Owls casting spells..." (Carousel - written by Vanessa Carlton)
"This is no ticket for dreamland..." (Cool...then what is?)
"And I wait for the sound of my gypsy"
"Tonight there are no saviors"
"As the moon rolls over the mountain and you are lost in your dreaming"
"Dreams to be sold"
"The wild, white rose..."
"I will sing you a story of moonlight..."
"All the beautiful worlds."
"You think you hear demons...filling the air with colors...lift you up to God"
"I'm still a dreamer's fancy"
"Dreams that still live on..."
and more...

A lot of these phrases are repeated throughout. And we still don't know the lyrics to "I Don't Care" or "Hard Advice" so it wouldn't surprise me if at least one of those songs (or both) contributed in this way. I just love it. That being said, she has many many many songs that really aren't magical/mystical - which I also like because of the variety.

Thoughts on any of this? Do you have a favorite album in terms of these details? I'm excited about what's coming up!
