Default When the previews are made available...

Will you listen to the iTunes previews when they will be made available? Those previews run at about 1 min 30 sec long. I personally am debating it because I feel like that long of previews will ruin the first listening experience of the album for me. Thoughts anyone?

I've been debating this as well. I suspect I won't. I'll probably whet my appetite with the 15 second Instagram clips, but will leave the rest for when I have the album in my hands. Hopefully that LP will arrive in a timely fashion!

If I remember correctly, the previews for IYDs weren't available until the album dropped.

Well they didn't have previews like that when IYD came out. But then, I did stream the whole album from the Rolling Stone website a day or two before release date.

If 1 min previews do show up, I'll refrain because (yes) It does take away from the "first listening experience".

That being said, I probably won't be able to stop myself from listening to the 10 or 15 sec snippits posted on her Instagram every week. But snippits that short really just whet your appetite and don't really give you a sense of how the full song will turn out ~ case in point, the first snippit of "Everybody Loves You". Most of us (including me) hated it, and now it's one of my favorites.

I also don't think I'm going to be able to stop myself from downloading the other three digital singles when we get them these next two months. I will want them right then and there. I just know myself.

Still, though...even with four songs we will have already heard pre-release, it will just add more familiarity to the "first listening experience", especially when you factor in sequencing, and how one track leads into another, etc.

Now days, the iTunes previews go up some weeks before the album's release. I remember Cher's album previews last year were up a whole month before the album was released.
