Default Stevie Talks Game of Thrones

[I don't love Cersai, but Jaime and Cersai are people you appreciate despite yourself. Stevie is right. You just hate Joffrey. There's no love there. No "love to hate". It's not even fun to hate him. Anyway, I know she was quoted as talking about GoT before, but I think she gets fuller commentary here]

Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks: “I would love to write some music for Game of Thrones"

Game Of Thrones is the fantasy-world show that’s a real-life phenomenon.

Since premiering in 2011 this mammoth HBO production has won enough Emmys and Golden Globes to smelt its very own Iron — if particularly shiny — Throne. In the UK the series took home the Audience Award at the 2013 BAFTAs, as voted for by RT readers. It was a fitting “homeland” accolade given that the show is largely shot in Northern Ireland with a large, talented — and mainly British — cast.

Still, the world is tuning in to this critical and commercial smash. In the US last year, season three became HBO’s second most viewed series ever, after the fifth season of The Sopranos — although a fair few of those viewings were down to one particularly ardent fan sitting down to repeated sessions. Step forward, Ms Stevie Nicks. It’s a show Nicks turned to at a difficult period of her life.

“I didn’t leave the house for almost five months,” she says of the period after the late-December 2011 death of her mother. “And then I got pneumonia. With my pneumonia and my mother’s death I watched the entire first season of Game of Thrones. That certainly took my mind off everything,” she smiles.

What’s the appeal of this character-rich drama of warring kingdoms and dastardly plotting?
“The guy who wrote these stories [author George RR Martin] is my age now, and I think: how in the world does somebody come up with these 15 or so characters and then everything that’s wrapped around each one of the 15 characters? It blows my mind that he’s able to create this vast, interlinked world. As a songwriter I write little movies. But I can’t imagine sitting down and writing even one small book, a novel. We each have our thing that we’re really good at.”

You appeared on an episode of Glee dedicated to Fleetwood Mac. Could you do something similar with Game of Thrones?

“I would love to write some music for the show. I’ve written a bunch of poetry about it — one for each of the characters. On Jon Snow… on Arya… on Cersei… on Cersei and Jaime, the blonde on blonde… on Khaleesi… I’m always looking for that kind of inspiration, and I’m very inspired by it — as I was very inspired by Twilight.”

Who are your favourite characters?

“Khaleesi [Emilia Clarke] is my new favourite heroine. And Cersei [Lena Headey] is fantastic. She’s just mean as s**t. And you know who else is mean? Not Joffrey [Jack Gleeson] — he’s beyond. He’s just sickly, deeply, sadistically evil. But no, the one that’s going to marry him, Margaery [played by Natalie Dormer]. She is just such a great evil person. And she thinks she is going to be able to handle him. And then you have Brienne of Tarth [Gwendoline Christie] — I love her.”

To catch up before season four begins on 7 April on Sky Atlantic, seasons one to three Box Sets are available On Demand from 10 March

The Wire by Price Peterson 2/20/2014

http://www.thewire.com/entertainment...weirdo/358298/

When American Horror Story: Coven recently reminded us of Stevie Nicks' awesomeness, I had been under the impression that her relative obscurity of late owed to her general coolness and preference for laying low. You know? Like, Stevie Nicks had spent the greater part of a decade just walking the earth and tracing sigils at the moon and enjoying an occasional Fleetwood Mac reunion without the need to be in the public spotlight constantly. But it turns out she'd just been sitting in her TV room turning into a genuine, gold star GEEK the whole time. In a new interview with RadioTimes, Nicks unleashed a hundred Tumblr fangirls' worth of passion for Game of Thrones, openly asked the universe to allow her to write music for it, and even went so far as to make this hilariously nerdy admission: "I’ve written a bunch of poetry about it — one for each of the characters. On Jon Snow… on Arya… on Cersei… on Cersei and Jaime, the blonde on blonde… on Khaleesi." Stevie Nicks has written Game of Thrones poetry, everybody. But it's quite alright if that quote didn't make you flush with vague embarrassment, because Game of Thrones certainly is worthy of that kind of adoration. But then listen to what Stevie Nicks said next: "I’m always looking for that kind of inspiration, and I’m very inspired by [Game of Thrones] — as I was very inspired by Twilight." TWILIGHT. Man, maybe somebody should stage an intervention for Stevie Nicks? Just unplug her VHS player, she is not well. [E! Online]

I don't know if anyone follows her @stevienicks twitter but it was VERY active on 2/18/14 (tues) with around 20 tweets in 12 hours...Whoever was tweeting was trying to get #GetStevieVerified trending in an effort to get her twitter official "verified" (blue check) status...

They were also making people aware of the fact that the @RealStevieNicks (if you have had twitter for a while you know the "fake" twitter story) is not her twitter account...
I don't know who was tweeting but they became very defensive about the @stevienicks account being Stevie's...I don't know if someone in Stevie's camp was tweeting or she was hacked because by midnight ALL the tweets made that day had been deleted...

I'm not trying to get off topic here but when all this was happening Stevie Nicks was quite the subject of conversation on twitter and she was trending #1 on Yahoo...The point is this...If Stevie were to tweet once in a while she could easily have a million followers which could increase her revenue in the market place and by not taking advantage of social media she's missing a great opportunity...

"Her relative obscurity of late"? I feel like she has been more visible and accessible these last few years than any of my other 30+ years of fandom.

Stevie can get verified without having her fans rally for it. She just needs to contact twitter.

Exactly!!! That is why the whole thing is very strange...If "camp Stevie" is worried about it all they need to do is contact Twitter..."The Voice Critic ( @OfficialTVC ) & @stevienicks were tweeting each other...@stevienicks & @officialTVC were basically trying to start a riot over Twitter not having "verified" her...Personally I think she may have been hacked...TVC was questioned after Stevie's tweets were deleted and they responded that their mission was accomplished & the tweets were no longer needed...All of TVC tweets are still there (@stevienicks' were deleted)...I will post the one that started the mess...

These tweets just go on & on...If "camp Stevie" was behind this it's not a good way to build her media presence...Sorry about side tracking things but if Stevie would use "social media" properly she & FM would benefit greatly...

.
So, if their goal was accomplished, what do you think that means? That she'll be verified soon? Strange.

I hope Stevie does not replace Cee Lo on The Voice ,
