Default New Madonna album planned for 2014 release

http://www.examiner.com/article/mado...atrick-leonard

http://thatgrapejuice.net/2014/01/re...working-album/

Last week, it was announced in media by a 'source' that Madonna and Patrick Leonard were working on her 13th studio album. As a Madonna fan, this is great news.

Supposedly, she wants to do something similar in style to the I'm Breathless album she recorded for the Dick Tracy movie, although her label is pushing her to work with Daft Punk (yuck - I mean, they're ok but I personally don't want a Daft-Madonna album).

After nearly 15 years of not reinventing herself - since Music; after several albums of dance-pop, I'm very much looking forward to something different from her.

Some of Madonna and Patrick Leonard's biggest hits were Like a Prayer, Cherish, True Blue, Live to Tell, La Isla Bonita, Frozen, Hanky Panky, Sky Fits Heaven, Frozen, Nothing Really Matters, I’ll Remember, You'll See and Something to Remember.

Me too! But it will it actually be good? I'm not sure at this point. Madonna has always sort of veered in and out of my personal taste, but in the past I'd always been able to respect even what I don't like. Her more recent releases seem to indicate she's kind of lost the plot a bit.

Still, I enjoy most of her songs with Patrick Leonard, so I'll be reservedly optimistic.

MDNA is a weak album, admittedly. It has some great tracks though, and at least half of them are great (in my opinion). Her previous album, Hard Candy, is an all-time favorite of mine, so I can't agree with you entirely that her recent releases have all been subpar. Confessions On A Dance Floor before that is not only one of my favorite albums by any artist, ever, but is also my favorite Madonna album (forever, probably).

Her work with Pat has always been among her best stuff, so I'm not even slightly concerned that this album will be a dud. The last time they worked together we got the magnificent Ray Of Light album.

But then again...I'm a Madonna super-fan, thus extremely biased. Though not blind to her faults.

Yeah, Confessions was a great album. I'm really speaking about after that.

I don't know if I can really explain myself here. I just always was fascinated by Madonna's career moves more than anything else. She always seemed to have this uncanny sense of who to work with and what to do at what time in order to get everybody to go absolutely insane for her. And I get the impression that she's kinda lost that lately. She just gives me the sense that she's retreading things and isn't really sure where to go next anymore. She's still releasing competent pop albums, which is great, but kind of a downgrade to me. I'm just wondering whether this new release will change my mind. Guess we'll have to see.

Hopefully it's better than the MDNA album. I bought it and was very disappointed, being a fan of her music. I prefer her music from the 80's most, so maybe it's just me and my personal preferences.

I understand. Maybe it's age, maybe it's motherhood (of teenagers), maybe it's boredom. I've long suspected that Madonna is bored with music, music videos and her own careeer. It could be so many things, but is probably just ennui resulting from a lack of attention (she is a Leo, after all). Madonna is always better when she's getting a lot of media attention and publicity.

I agree - MDNA is a very disappointing album when held up to her other material. Are there any tracks that you like from it? I think my favorites are Love Spent, Falling Free and Beautiful Killer (from the bonus version - it should have been a single and it should have been on the standard release). I Don't Give A is good - and I like Some Girls because of the killer dance beats. The rest, however, is just forgettable.

I love, love, love, love, love, love COADF. Did I mention I love that album?! lol The time frame, concert era, album. Agreed-by Madonna or by anyone that year, COADF wins hands down. That said I was really eager for HC-and it was so/so at first but really grew on me, and had some good points from the get-go, but for a beg-to end album, it had to grow on me for like a month. MDNA-is the first time EVER I have been like Oh Maddie what have you done (a tie w/ her cover of American Pie-surely the most heinous song in music history ) but wow-MDNA was just reaching TOO hard for her and she's better than that. Totally phoned that one in, and ok, she can-but I was disappointed to see that she did =( A new album, am hopeful cause I don't want MDNA to be the last we hear from her royal self.

I hope this time she's willing to shell out money for some quality studio time and quality collaborators. #doubtful

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I think she will. Working with Patrick is a sign she wants a quality product, in my opinion.

I do believe MDNA was rushed. It's also a post-divorce album. No matter who you are, the end of a marriage is hard.

Hard Candy took a long time to grow on me. At first, I only liked a couple songs and the rest seemed like throw-aways. Funny thing though - after a couple years, I revisited the album and it sounded very fresh and current.

Same here. I liked it-it grew on me, but I didn't play the crap out of it. then several months later I was on a road trip and popped it in as something I hadn't heard in a while, and loved it! I was like "oh yea", "oh yea" each time a song came on and I recalled digging it. Who knows...MAYBE MDNA will sound good later....not holding breath...just saying. I do still have the deluxe copy, so that's saying something right??? lol Dawned on me I still need to pick up the deluxe Celebration cd. I think I wanted it on vinyl is why I hadn't. Hmmm...do I see a trip to record store in my future today??

Celebration on vinyl is hard to find, and expensive. It tends to average around $400, but I've seen it as high as $700.

It's definitely on my wishlist...but I'm sure I'll be wishing for a long time.

Check this out; Some Girls from MDNA. This video is, well, very odd.

I feel that her crown has slipped with her last two albums, it's felt like she's been chasing the trends, rather than setting them. Hard Candy and MDNA have flashes of brilliance, and if they were released by anyone other than Madonna, they'd probably have been far better received.

Still, always up for more Madonna. I've always said she still has a few cracking albums in her. She has a lot to say, and I'd love to see her return to the top of her game.

Mind you, I think it's hilarious that MDNA has outsold ARTPOP, after some particularly vocal "little monsters" couldn't slate Madonna enough after she released that album...

I am really looking forward to a new Madonna album. Its funny I bought MDNA when it was released and it wasnt too bad but I never really listened to it that much and then when I saw her on the MDNA tour a little while ago that is when I really fell in love with it. Something about hearing those songs live just did it for me and I swear for months after that show I couldnt stop listening to that album. If the new one is anything like it I will be very happy but then again I would love something like Confessions as well since that is my other recent favorite by her.

That happened to me, too. Actually, it's happened with many other artists as well.

MDNA, despite being disappointing at first, has grown on me. I can honestly say I like at least half of the album, and that's a lot more than many other albums I've had.
