I don't think Mama got paid "Landslide/Budweiser" money for the Xbox spot but I'm sure she'll still giggle when she has the royalty check in her hand... and it's better than the "Holiday Road/Twizzler" spot...

These things do sell a lot though and the games are expensive. So, I wonder how much the artists whose music is used do make.

I saw the commercial last night as I was lying in bed, and just turning the TV off. I was like "that beat sounds just like I Can't Wait, but there's no way it could be. Wait, that IS I Can't Wait!" Made me go to sleep with a smile on my face. It's proof to me that even Stevie's less classic material is coming into it's own.

I have a hard time thinking the music and footage fit together effectively, to be honest. Methinks someone in marketing is a fan, and wasn't thinking entirely strategically. But I always like the representation of an often-underappreciated song. Enjoy those royalties, Stevie.

OMG =1 billion??? This might be the new way to sell new songs in the future. I'll let you young fans buy these games I will never play and you can rip the music to mediafire for us all.

I am not a gamer and do not know specifics but I do know that gta has radio stations within the game. One of the station lists includes ICW

http://www.cheatgtav.com/gta-v-song-list-soundtrack/

Simple Minds – All the Things She Said
Gerry Rafferty – Baker Street
Robert Plant – Big Log
Foreigner – Dirty White Boy
Don Johnson – Heartbeat
Steve Winwood – Higher Love
Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band – Hollywood Nights
Stevie Nicks – I Can’t Wait
Phil Collins – I Don’t Care Anymore
The Alan Parsons Project – I Wouldn’t Want to Be Like You
Chicago – If You Leave Me Now
Kenny Loggins – I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man)
Billy Squier – Lonely Is the Night
Bob Seger – Night Moves
Small Faces – Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake
Def Leppard – Photograph
Queen – Radio Ga Ga
The Cult – Rain
Steve Miller Band – Rock’n Me
Elton John – Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting
Greg Kihn Band – The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em)

If Kenny Loggins is the DJ Then he should play "Whenever I Call You Friend"
