Default Song and vocal quality...

Hey everyone! I've really been listening to all of Stevie and Lindsey's solo output lately and SYW, in particular. Also, just anything I can find that I haven't seen...last night I watched the You Tube videos from Stevie's shows with Rod Stewart. How does someone in her 60's remain so CUTE!!!!! Never seen it before! Her expressions, dancing and always the chemistry she seems to exude! Rod Stewart's music and act is so different from Stevie's usual! That's always a treat! Watching her tough, little self sing Passion and Young Turks was GREAT! And, since it was You Tube, the audio is all over the place but Stevie's voice was amazing in those places where her backup vocals were all you could hear.

For awhile now I have read everyone's thoughts on Stevie's music, that she can't write anymore, that her songs since Tusk have gone downhill, that her changed voice sucks, that she needs help to write, is not involved, etc.. If you are one of those people, I was, too...go back and really listen to TISL and SYW. Read the lyrics...her songs are amazingly written. Great music and even with the heavy handed production and low register she sings beautifully. And, whatever you want to say about Sheryl Crow...listen to Candlebright, Sorcerer, It's Only Love, oh heck, all of the songs on TISl...she really made Stevie work at singing like she knew she could. As you move from there to the present, thru IYD and the present FM tour, I think Stevie must work harder at preserving her voice now than ever and that voice of hers is THE HANDS-DOWN MOST UNIQUE SOUND my ears have ever heard! Thank you, Stevie.
I have noticed that LB seems to like Stevie's lower register and so low that they both seem to chant rather than sing on some of the songs on SYW, it must work for him musically, but Stevie CAN still sing in the higher register, maybe not easily but it's doable. WTF? I just don't get it? Please, if there is to be another FM record or ANY extra recording (IF Buckingham Nicks ever comes out), HIRE a outside producer, period. And, LB's vocals are not what they used to be either, but Stevie's use of a voice coach is obvious...LB would benefit from a voice coach, too. Wonder why he doesn't use one?

Anyway, I have changed my mind lately and now think that if S&L want to and take care of themselves and stay and continue to grow their friendship, we FM fans could be in for some GREAT times ahead! Life is short and they know it so just maybe...

I Can't Wait!!!!!!
