Lightbulb Mick and Stevie's present relationship...

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the almost nonexistent relationship between Mick and Stevie the whole first leg of the tour? It's kind of like they're keeping their distancethey aren't rude, they're friendly...just distant!

No, I haven't noticed a change in their relationship. Though, his Playboy interview was manipulative, in a way that I didn't think it would be at this stage in their lives. But since the tour has started, things seem normal to me. When she is standing in front of the drum kit, they seem to interact as much as they ever did. Also, when they are taking bows, it is the same.

The only thing I have noticed is that Mick used to sometimes walk her off the stage in the past and he doesn't do that any longer.

Maybe Mick is royally pissed about the new [non-existent] album debacle. Considering I read more than one article before the tour started which stated the band was touring with a new full-length album...if I were Mick I would be a teensy bit annoyed and frustrated. And it is partially Stevie's fault much as I love her attitude of fluck you all I'll do what I want and I don't want to record...an album would be nice, Mick wants it, Lindsey wants it - and they want Stevie involved rather than the likely situation of another EP with the remaining 5 songs On with the Show, Lay Down for Free, Is it Right, In my World and Hunger, maybe save one of these songs for a LB solo record, tack two unreleased Stevie songs on the end and hey presto - another Fleetwood Mac EP, Ever Extended Play

Another possibilty is we get a full-length album containing the four songs on the April-issue Extended Play, plus the ones I mentioned and four new Stevie songs.

Anyway... I don't really think Mick is pissed off at Stevie but ...if he is there is a slight chance it could be her reluctance to keep the band moving forward and trying new exciting things, or at the very least proferring some unreleased demos to the band as a peace offering.

They probably don't see much of each other outside work these days, Mick and Stevie, you have to remember he lives in Hawaii and she lives in er Los Angeles so it's a fair hike! And I doubt they were ever best buds within the past few years. What we see on stage in a shadow of a reality ... it is just a performance - even their interactions with each other are largely rehearsed - possibly even how MF used to walk SN offstage each night was just for fans enjoyment? Just speculating...but she is a grown woman with two healthy legs and not at all lacking in confidence to strut off that stage in her high boots like Shania Twain

Yes, this was mentioned in Mick's now-infamous 2012 Playboy interview. I do wonder what fueled their split. 21st century Mick can't be accused of dedicating his entire existence to Fleetwood Mac. He doesn't seem to be addicted to extravagent material things anymore judging by his relatively modest home & cars, either. And in contrast to his heyday, he seems pretty dedicated to his children, too.

But we don't know if Mick is monogamous. In the old days, men settled down as they got older, but these days with Viagra, many keep playing the field until death.

He did mention that he had a girlfriend and she was not on tour with them during that more recent interview, so he said he liked to be able to see her. So maybe he is settled and devoted. But he probably found other ways to get on Lynn's nerves. I chuckled in the Playboy interview when he said he never did anything with the small house he's now living in and indicated that was his wife's fault. Was she holding you back from your decorating, Mick?

she said in an interview (i can't find the video link) sometime after SYW and that tour and all that she and Mick were BFFs and that they hung out in Hawaii when there and watched movies and that sort of thing and always will... whereas she and Lindsey don't ever hang out and she didn't think they ever would because they weren't those kind of lovers and they didn't have that kind of breakup (ie theirs was nasty)... of course, we know she HAS since then hung out with Lindsey so maybe she's on again with LB and a little off again with Mick. She does tend to go with whatever mood she's in.....

Hahaha...my thoughts exactly. LB is in and MF is out, it's like a see-saw! Can't say I think very much of MF... I remember in his book he said that the boys of FM weren't pigs on the road, etc. I think he was most certainly a pig...just saying

Mick has had the twins at some of the tour stops with him.

Yesterday, I was reading an old interview of Christine's and she mentioned that she was closer to Amy and Lucy than she was to her own blood and she loved them. It just made me realize what is fairly obvious, that she didn't see her own brother's children a lot when they were growing up.

Christine mentioned in that interview that she'd been "sterilized" because she didn't want to bother with the hassle of birth control.

A Mick memory from crazy days in 1977:

Every time I ever tried to pull some girl, I got caught. Some rock star! Every tucking time! The lads would poke me and say, "Go on, Mick, she fancies you."

Every time. Caught red-handed.

I think we were playing the Calgary Stampede, and we got drunk and wanted some women. We were too tired to go to a club, so we thought, let's get some call girls! No sooner said than done. Blind drunk, back to the hotel which is in the process of undergoing some kind of riot. The memory of it fades in and out . . . nice black girl . . . real nice . . . I'm undoing the old fly buttons, preparing to launch the one-eyed trouser snake . . . and the phone rings!

The blood in my veins ceased flowing for a trice, and then froze. I shot to the phone, pants flapping around ankles . . . but couldn't. . . quite . . . get there in time. The girl picks up the phone on some insane impulse. " 'Allo?"

It was Jenny. I'm dying. Oh, my God!

"Who's that?" Jenny asks. "Oh, a few people in the room after the gig. " But Jenny knew, of course. I was caught fair and square. Jenny was disappointed and angry. So I've learned it's just not worth it. I always suffer for it.

Oh, so you always suffer for it Mick? Never mind how your wife Jenny suffered and had to endure your cheating ways!

Wow...that days were very sad regarding healthy relationships. But, all the excesses are included in the R'N'R package.
