Default TISL vs. IYD Track by Track Day Two

Well to no one's surprise, Trouble in Shangri-La beat Wide Sargasso Sea yetserday. Now we're on to Day 2. Voting will close around 2pm CDT tomorrow. Vote for your favorite!

(Quick note: I know not everyone agrees with the matchups, and I did try to think these through as best I could, but in the end, it is all arbitrary, and these songs are the best pairings I came up with)

I know I'm totally in the minority here, but I just don't get the love for You May Be The One. It actually sounds kind of out of place on the record. Candlebright (especially the outtake), on the other hand, is one of my favorite TISL tracks.

OH MY GOSH how could you do this to me again? I love both of these songs and have to, somehow, someway, decide which one will not be getting my vote.

Edit: OK, I voted for Candlebright. It was hard, but it's been a favorite of mine for years; long before it appeared on TISL. You May Be The One is new enough that I'm ok not voting for it.

Both are beautiful & classic Stevie songs. My only complaint about the officially released "Candlebright" is that Sheryl and Co. provided an amazing atmosphere, but Stevie's vocal is too gravelly & abrasive, much as most of her vocals on TISL IYD had much more vibrant and electric vocals from Stevie overall imo. Now if she had recorded "Candlebright" with a softer, velvetly vocal ala "It's Only Love", this might be a no brainer. "You May Be The One" is another of Stevie's great kiss off/f**k off song in the vein of "Long Way To Go", "No Spoken Word", just mellower, wiser & bluesier with age old wisdom.

Candlebright is probably my second favorite from TISL, right below the title track. "You May Be The One" is a good song no doubt, but it doesn't have that "Stevie-vibe" to me. It sounds like a cover of some old blues song.

YMBTO for me. I always found Candlebright a little forgettable. Just sayin'.

I love Candlebright, but I hate the production. The mandolin ruins it for me.
