Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

My musical tastes are *fairly* mainstream, but yet unknown to most radio-listening Americans.

My favorite albums of 2012 include:

Pacifica - The Presets
Moving Up Living Down - Eric Hutchinson
Comedians - Honeycut
Little Spark - Jessie Baylin
The 2nd Law - Muse
What We Saw From The Cheap Seats - Regina Spektor

I had huge hopes for Fiona Apple's The Idler Wheel..., but found it largely bizarre and slightly unsettling.

As far as movies...meh, I'm not much of a movie guy. Cloud Atlas looks interesting, but I've not yet seen it. Themes of reincarnation fascinate me.

Most of my favorite singles are top-40 fodder.

Interesting theme to which to be attracted. I recommend very highly On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (Vincente Minnelli, 1970), Made in Heaven (Alan Rudolph, 1987) and Little Buddha (Bernardo Bertolucci, 1994) which deal with the subject of reincarnation.

Thank for the recommendations; I'll see what I can find on Netflix. My favorite reincarnation movie is one I saw as a child, The Reincarnation of Peter Proud.

Reincarnation of Peter Proud, which I have not seen, is a remake of an Indian movie called: Madhumati.

Might be worth checking out; it is available on Netflix. A friend of mine from India says it is "beautiful."

12. MAKE A SCENE, Sophie Ellis-Bextor - I'm sure you know this CD took forever to get released. By the time it did there had already been about 5 singles / videos that came before it. I loved them all and especially the last single "Starlight." I love Sophie.

3. TONIGHT (EXTENDED VERSION), Saint Etienne - I didn't know they had a new CD. I just sampled this track and I like it.
7. PERFECT WORLD, Gossip - I have to give this one another listen but I love "Move in the Right Direction."
10. SHARE MY LOVE, R. Kelly - love the feel good vibe of this
