Buddy / Ignore list

Hi everyone,
I need to block a person but I need to be sure that using the buddy / ignore lists button that person won't be able to read my posts anymore and I won't have to read hers. I've never used that function before and I was hoping I shouldn't have to do it, but at the moment it seems to be the only right choice to make.

The ignore button will make that person's posts invisible to you and they won't be able to send you emails or PMs.

Thanks for the fast and exhaustive answer, ThePenguin. Then I guess that at the moment the best option is trying to ignore what this person write.
