It wasn't shown in the U.S. because that 7/7 terrorism event has had much less of an impact on us Americans here in the U.S. than Michael Phelps has had. That's the reason why the tribute wasn't broadcast in the U.S. I'd rather watch Michael Phelps, if you ask me.

really even out of respect?

I really would love to see the reaction if the rest of the world did the same with any September 11 tribute

and what impact has michael phelps had on this country?

Not only has he made such a powerful impact on swimming and in the sports world, but also Michael Phelps has served as a great example of inspiration, making his story relatable to others: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/olympic...d-bullies.html

Phelps must have smoked too much weed.
No Gold for you!!! (spoken like the soup Nazi).

^^That's what I was thinking! Phelps, Obama, and Fallon can chortle over a dooby while 1 in 8--ONE IN EIGHT!!!--less privileged inmates rot in jail on marijuana--MARIJUANA!!!--convictions.

I'm so sick of Phelps you can't even know.

I'm lucky I don't know much about Phelps,But NBC screwed up.They should of run the 7/7 Tribute footage instead of the Phelps.

In the meantime I probably jump around and watch some of the events.
