Thumbs up Anyone Know Anything About St. Petersburg, FL?

Hey all! Long time no see!! I've been looking a bit into St. Petersburg as a place to move and was wondering if any of you all were familiar with the town or area? Any decently prices water front apartments? What are some good places to meet awesome young people?

Thanks So Much,
Ethan

I love the Tampa-St. Pete-Clearwater area though I haven't visited up there since November, I seem to hang around the area beaches around Sarasota where I live. St. Pete's nice because you're near Tampa and Clearwater Beach and Ybor City near downtown Tampa has nightlife and wall to wall clubs, shops, and eateries. I just walk everywhere when there and it's so much fun and happening. I would bet you'll pay a lot for anything waterfront down here no matter where it's at because it's Florida. Those three communities are so close to each other though and only minutes apart so getting around is pretty easy to each one. Keep in mind though that living in Florida is different than vacationing part time. You have the heat and humidity and a lot of bugs. I've not seen any out yet this spring/summer but they'll have small planes flying over at night spraying for mosquitos and it can both fascinate you and startle you if you're out driving and one comes out from nowhere over the tree tops or store parking lot

I was in the garage this afternoon and happened to glance up and on the wall was the furriest wolf spider I have ever seen and as big as my hand. Normally I try and shoo anything out without killing something but those spiders are aggressive things and I knew a fly swat wouldn't work so I went for the broom! I know it sounds mean but those are one thing I do not want getting in the house.

I've never been there.I would love to move down there. .Ok.Put the monster insects aside.Got to worry about snakes and gators.I don't want to find a big snake or a gator cuddling up with me in bed.

There are snakes and gators here but only a small few of snakes are actually poisonous. Most are harmless and beneficial because they eat other rodents and things. Just a couple weeks ago I was taking out trash at the side of the house and a black racer took off through the grass and behind the central AC unit. I think I scared it more than it scared me. I let it be. They are harmless snakes to have around and some snakes are actually protected by law down here. You'll see more harmless snakes down here than you'll ever see poisonous. Gators you mostly only have to worry about near lakes, rivers, and ponds or canals. They are known to enjoy the same cool swimming pool that we do lol but it's unlikely. I am out walking and biking all the time and it's not like gators are out all over or crossing the streets. If anything it's exciting when you do see one out sunning by a pond or something. Remember they were here in Florida before us
