Default Interesting Stevie connection to Broadway

It seems Dave Stewart and Glenn Ballard have written the music and lyrics for the new "Ghost" musical coming to broadway. I'm sure Stevie heard lots of these tunes while working on IYD. It's interesting to wonder music from the musical could have been music that started out as a Stevie song ...perhaps.

When I first heard about this I laughed my butt off thinking it was a joke or maybe a SNL skit. I can see Sister Act becoming a musical, but Ghost? hahahahahahahah

What next?....

Goonies The Musical. Songs include.....

"The Truffle Shuffle"
"Siempre hay que separa las drogas"
"Baby Ruth"
"HEEEEY YOUUU GUUUUUUYS!"

I saw the show when it premiered in Manchester and it's actually quite good. The technology they use is really interesting, even if the songs are your typical musical fare.

There's a photo floating round somewhere of Stevie's friend Mary (I think), who travelled to London with Stevie, sitting in the theatre in front of Ghost the Musical merchandise and posters, so it's safe to say Mary at least has seen the show.

Whatever happened to all the talk about a Broadway musical about the making of Rumours? I remember a few years back, there was some talk of doing this. I hope it was abandoned. (I loathe musicals.)

What's wrong with that Broadway world anyway? Why do they have to steal old stuff from other medias? Are there no original thoughts or ideas in that world?

I wonder if Stevie's seen it?

I saw it in London and was impressed with the technical aspects of the show too. I thought it was really clever.

I haven't seen the show yet, as it hasn't come to Canada yet, but my friend Caissie Levy plays the lead role of Molly. From the youtube clips I have seen, it actually looks quite good and is getting fantastic reviews. Check out the clips if you have time.

How does Dave Stewart multitask so well??? Working on his own music, Stevie's, Joss Stone's, and the musical, plus the upcoming tour with Joss? Just amazing.
