Default Cursing

From time to time every one of us likes or has to curse a little. It's very interesting why certain words become considered as "not appropriate" or "less elegant" in the course of daily conversations. While I do think that swearing in general can be a way of verbal agression, still there are times when you just have to use some of the bad words to emphasize your mood or emotions. In Poland there are many such words but the one that is the most popular is: "kurwa" (which means "bitch" but is generally used as a expression of everything that upsets or irritates you). I wonder how often You use such words to express Your states of mind. So, let's curse a little

Apparently I'm not allowed to swear anymore due to having a one year old. Every time I do swear I get told off by the wife. So I need some creative words.

I guess she doesn't want a one year old boy saying "f***ing c**t????

I swore on twitter for the first time yesterday. It was very liberating.

I think the f word is the best word in any language. It's so versatile and expressive. No other word like it!

I have to agree with this although I hate it when people use it in every sentence. I often wonder when people use it like that what words do they actually use when they want to have a good old rant and let of steam.

I must say I'm not a big fan of the c word though and hate to hear it in any context. Maybe that's just a girl or age thing though.

Gill.

^^very true.. though i don't usually curse in everyday conversation too often, for me its mainly used when i feel pain eg: stub toe or jam finger in cupboard etc, or whilst driving behind some F##k Wit, that has no idea that he/she is holding up the traffic, talking on the mobile ph & travelling 20km below the recommended speed limit then i don't mind doing bit of cursing..

Agreed. The F word is great, but becomes tacky with overuse.

The C word is revolting.

I have a potty mouth and while I got it honestly, it's not very attractive. I certainly don't curse with clients (unless they do first...lol) and I'm trying to watch my language in front of my daughter. The other day, she was looking at something out the window and said, "Oh GOD!" and it sounded just like me. She also said "damn" when she couldn't get her shoe on. I asked her to say "oh dear" when she gets frustrated.

I have tried to be better about using curse word, i have and do use all of them! My favorite is MINGE /MINGER and I try to swear in my head instead of vocalizing it while smiling at the moron it is direct to.

I swear a lot in my day to day life, I'm partial to British words such as b**t**d and bloody hell. Because in a weird way I think they make me sound kind of posher. Hahahaa.
I'm also a big fan of making hand gestures at inanimate objects, not really sure why, in fact that's a tad weird.

I am so bad at this, (Swearing) and I have to learn to not because I'm a call center agent and that kind of can't be done there unless I'm off the production floor. I guess you can't swear at any job where you work or talk with the public.

There's only one swear word I will not say and I hate when other people use it, and that's the C word. I was reading a Stephen King novel last night & he used that word & even though I have seen it in his books before and it was in a character's context it kind of took me aback. It's not a cute word any way you slice it.

The F word is fun to say though, it's versatile in the fact that it's a:
  • "Verb
    Adjective
    Adverb
    Abverb enhancing an adjective
    Noun
    Part of a word"
