Hey guys
I've watched the classic Mirage tour Sisters Of The Moon perrformance a few times oveer the past couple of weeks and one of the main parts that I really like is when Lindsey sings the few lines of the bridge. His vocals are great and really add something to the song. I'm starting to think that I'd have loved to hear him sing the same part on the studio version... thoughts?

I wish I could remember where I read a review of
that performance. Possibly it was in Rolling Stone all those many years ago. Seems like they attributed Lindsey singing to Stevie's inability to complete the song due to the shape her vocals were in due to the length of the tour and her drug habit. Even with that, it's my favorite song of Fleetwood Mac's to ever be recorded on stage. |

I'm sorry to say this, but that's the only part of that performance that I don't like.

That doesn't make any sense (hardly unusual for Rolling Stone!) - if she couldn't complete the song then she surely would have vanished from the stage towards the end of the performance rather than take a brief break in the middle for 4 lines and then come back and do such crazy, shredding vocals for several more minutes until the song ended? Perhaps they're mixing it up with the time Lindsey had to take over the end of Silver Springs?

Aren't there earlier versions where he does that too?

ETA not sure if "Illusions are her game" is grammatically incorrect, now that I look into it. The NYT ran a headline reading "crayons are her game." So I suppose it should be right. Sorry, Tusk-era Stevie! I still like "Illusion is her game" better. Last edited by glamorousnymph; 09-16-2011 at 12:39 PM.. Reason: Wrong. |

In the Mirage video, at least, Lindsey sings "Some say illusion is her game." |

I had no idea that Stevie had pneumonia during the Mirage tour. She certainly has a long history of illnesses during tours.

That part where Lindsey sings the bridge is extremely haunting to me. It adds another depth to the meaning of the song and gives the song another perspective. It's really cool to me how she leaves the stage and he starts to talk about her as if she's not there. It almost gives the song a story like quality...love it! Plus, he just sounds so damn good singing it. If they bring this one back on the next tour, I would love to see them do it this way again.
