I was never really good at writing reviews, but I have a couple things to share.
Firstly, they set up a couple small fans in front of her on the stage. As soon as she was done with Stand Back, she said to her people that the fans reminded her of Sturgis, and they were too much for her, to take them away. I thought that was kinda funny. Secondly, I finally got to do edge walk, but I didn't get a hand shake. Sara did, so way to go, Sara!!! I had a really crabby security guard and a speaker in my way. Then, there was this lady who told the guard that they NEVER do this (edge walk) at her shows, (never mind she was up there with the rest of us). Anyway, I told her this happens at EVERY show. She then proceeded to try to get pissy with me because I was wrong, and had obviously never seen her in concert. I had to let that go. She sounded wonderful and went on to tell us that Moonlight is hard for her to do live. Sure didn't sound like it! It was a great show.

Maybe they just shut the fans off... There's one in the picture I took during edge walk.

no, i don't think it was a "scared" comment about the fans ...she was making a joke about the wind from the fans reminding her of winds at the sturgis show and that she'd like them turned down a notch. aside from that, tonight's show was topnotch...even better than friday night in toledo( although she did seem to be having some trouble with her ear monitors - when she'd come back onstage after the changes she kept pointing to herself and making a turn it up signal lol) the only downside to tonights show was the 3 "chatty women"(i can think of another description for them but im trying to be nice) sitting in front of us that continued to talk loudly through every song except for rhiannon and landslide. at times they were talking nearly as loud as stevie was singing and being shushed and yelled at by several people didnt deter them.

The stage thing is still scary, at least to me . A day after the Sugarland collapse, another stage collapsed in Belgium
I'm sure the first incident has crossed her mind. ![]()

Well, to Stevie's credit, she only changed one song. She added in Landslide, I'm sure to satisfy some needy fans. She is still trying to get the new songs out there. I thought it was brave of her to omit Landslide from the first concert but I'm sure someone gave her crap about it. I could care less about ever hearing that song again. I'm sooo sick of it.

I drove up from Louisville to the Cincy show last night. I was awesome, and Stevie was in great voice... Her vocals really shined on 'Soldiers Angel', 'Love Is' and 'Annabel Lee'. The fan comment at the beginning was hilarious:
"To my oh-so lovely assistants... These 3 fans here... I appreciate them, but one word... Sturgis" ![]() I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but some of the songs have updated videos behind her. Rhiannon was new, with fire dancers from the 'Sargasso' video... 'Moonlight' and 'Anabel Lee' both had video clips... 'Ghosts Are Gone' has clips of fire burning and cemetary statues... FWIW looked amazing!!! The crowd seemed pretty into the new songs as well... The only moment people really sat down for was 'Soldiers Angel' and the piano intro to 'Rhiannon'... I had a moment in the Edge walk... She held both of my hands for a pretty prolonged moment, looked my in my eyes... I proclaimed my love... and She returned it... And now I have it on video! I think this set list works awesomely... The must have classics (as 'Landslided' as we all are, it is now a must do for venues this size), and lovely sounding new ones... I do wish IYD was still in the set, but Stevie did mention that she was going to keep her talking to a minimum since they have a strict 11pm curfew... and they were done at around 10:50... So maybe its a time constraint issue more than anything. Great show! |

Side note: Has anyone else noticed she flipped the lyric in Moonlight from "burning like a candle in the middle" to "burning from the middle like a candle"? It sorta bugs me because that's one of my favorite parts in the IYD version - the sharp breath intake right before she says "in the middle" ... so dramatic. I wish she'd do that live...

possibly. I think there has been a couple of other stage collapses this year as well. I remember a show in Canada that when Cheap Trick exited the stage after completing their set the stage all collapsed. Thankfully I beleive nobody was hurt.

Another good reason not to have an opening act play as long as Michael Grim is playing for. |

If people actually still buy CDs, Stevie Nicks will probably sell a few copies of her latest one after her show at PNC Pavilion Saturday night.
Nearly half of the songs in Nicks’ set came from “In Your Dreams,” her first studio album in 10 years. And there wasn’t the severe drop-off in quality one might expect when going from a new song to a time-tested Fleetwood Mac classic. The first hour of the 105-minute performance was an “In Your Dreams” showcase, as she did five tunes from the record. Most had a Fleetwood Mac feel, probably because of the woman singing lead. But her outstanding seven-piece band, led by ace side man and session guitarist Waddy Wachtel, played with a command and an ease that contributed to the Mac vibe. The ensemble was rounded out by backup vocalists Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks, Stevie’s sister-in-law. Stevie got all of her twirling for the night out of the way during the evening’s first song, her 1983 solo hit “Stand Back” (unofficial count: eight consecutive 360-degree spins). Dressed in an all black outfit topped with a red shawl, she could have been mistaken for a cast member of “Game of Thrones,” though she doesn’t owe her look to that show. Medieval has been her signature since the mid-‘70s. She followed with “Secret Love,” the lead track from “In Your Dreams.” She and the band executed a solid take on the catchy mid-tempo tune, which charted adult-contemporary and would be good enough to go Top 40 pop if were still 1983 or if radio programmers didn’t have a prejudice against 63-year-old singers. “Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream)” was just as good, holding its own sandwiched between two classics from “Rumours” – “Dreams” and “Gold Dust Woman.” Nicks subsequently followed with three “In Your Dreams” tunes in a row, and the near-sellout crowd of 3700 stuck around for the most part to listen. “Soldier’s Angel,” which she said she wrote after a visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, was a solemn poem-song set to the lone steady rhythm of Jimmy Paxson’s kick drum. “Annabel Lee” was a pop-rock adaptation of an Edgar Allan Poe poem of the same name. And “For What It’s Worth” was yet another strong pop performance. The rest of the night was mainly reserved for the old stuff like “Landslide”; “Rhiannon” (augmented by images on the video screen of what appeared to be a pair of unicorns in heat); “Edge of Seventeen”; the show-closing ballad “Love Is”; and a version of Nicks’ hit duet with Don Henley, “Leather and Lace,” that she sang with her vocal coach Steve Real. She snuck in one more new one, “Ghosts Are Gone,” a rocker she likened to the style of Delaney & Bonnie. “You’ve probably never heard of them,” she said to the crowd in regard to the reference. “Look them up.” That makes two CDs that should be on the crowd’s shopping list: Nicks’ new one and “The Best of Delaney & Bonnie.” http://communitypress.cincinnati.com...sey=nav%7Chead |

Here are some picks from the Cincy show. Our row C seats turned out to be front row, so there was no one in front of me. 1st time in front row, it was amazing! We decided to decorate a wooden tambourine and were able to give it to Stevie during the Edge walk. I'd be grateful if anyone caught a pick of that. We were right in front of the girls all night.
Like the Toledo show, I was able to record audio, so I'll post links to the show after I've had time to upload and listen to it. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...ab1952d&type=1 --Shel
