I don't remember if we talked about this before and I looked in past posts and didn't see anything. In Julia she says she does two things. Then she says she does the stars and she does you. So, I'm guessing those are the two things.
Anyone have any guesses what that means? Is it a reference to the movie (I haven't seen it yet)? I mean, these days if you say "she does you" it means sex, but I seem to recall in the 70's and 80's, to "do" something means you are into it. Right? Although I always remember it as people saying things like "I don't do sushi" or "I don't do commitment" or something like that. Am I anywhere near the right track? |

70's - 80's translation for, "Do": Could mean, "Into" so in this case, into stars and into you.
At least where I come from it meant that.![]()

That's what I kinda figured. It actually took me quite a while to figure out what "two things" she was even talking about. LOL! I had to read the lyrics to get it because she says two things and then gets all sidetracked before she comes back to what the two things are. An English teacher would have a field day with her sentence structure. But then again, you also wouldn't send an English teacher after Bob Dylan, would you.

It's kind of like an eHarmony dating checklist.
Name your favorite pizza topping: Gold Dust Name your favorite vacation spot: Flying through the world in a golden ball What to things to you "do"?: The Stars. You. |
