Default Met Stevie After The Tonight Show

Hi All

Sorry for the delayed posting but I have been in a daze. If I miss anything Think About It (TBI) can add to this.

Here is a short and sweet summary - TBI and I got into the taping of the Tonight Show, except for the air conditioning at the freezing point we had a lovely time. While we were in line we met a guy named Jose or his aka statement on his t-shirt "Mr. Stevie Nicks". Not sure if he's on this board.

After the taping we met up with Jose and his friends at the driveway outside of NBC studios. TBI and I have done this before and normally Stevie drives out waves and leaves. There was also a guy that was a FM fan that we never spoke too

Imagine our surprise at 6:15pm about an hour after the taping we spotted her walking to her car and a couple of minutes later we saw the SUV beginning to drive out and then a Studio Union guy came over and said she'll stop but no pictures.

TBI & I just looked at each other not believing what was happening and then suddenly her comes the SUV, pulled over and the window lowered and there's Stevie. The Union guy handed her all the stuff to sign. After 2 guys had a bunch of stuff signed, TBI had her Wild Heart CD signed. I didn't have anything.

When it was my turn, I just shook Stevie's hand and told her how much the Wiltern show meant to us. I then thanked Karen for stopping, then Jose gave her his driver license and then Stevie laughed and said "Here you go Mr. Stevie Nicks" , then Stevie said to us don't forget In Your Dreams and then TBI said we already have it and we know all the words.

I then piped in that I love Annabell Lee and then I told Stevie to please take care of herself. She said she would, thanked us again and off she went.

It was such amazing moment that I'm still in a daze. Jose's friends got video since they never went up to the car so we are still trying to get a hold of it.

We tried to take photos but when we did the Union guy said no photos so we didn't want to ruin it for anyone.

Anyway - wanted to share with everyone - can't wait for the record signing.

Thanks Anna. I still am in a daze too; I am so grateful we waited...& waited LOL. The 1st time I met her was 13 years ago, by accident & cell phones had no cameras yet. This time, I had a camera, in the event she did stop afterwards & strictly no photos...aaarg. Ah well I'm still elated beyond words.

Yes, can't wait for the signing...

Awesome you guys! Your patience paid off in a great way. So much more memorable than a meet-and-greet or Edge-Walk type of Stevie encounter. You will certainly not forget that night! Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

I can just see it... SUV glass lowers, Stevie smiles and presses flesh with a few die hard fans. So - what color was the SUV? Was it black with tinted windows and chrome rims... was Stevie wearing her brown aviators? How Hollywood..

It was a black Lincoln Continental - didn't get the license plate though and Karen was driving.

When we saw Stevie walking to her car she was wearing uggs. Yes she was wearing her big brown aviator's.

She looked fantastic

How cool! I met Jose in line at the Wiltern and he was down in the pit with us. He's a nice guy.

Glad you got to meet Stevie! I can't wait until wednesday!

Thanks for sharing, sounded fun! On a side note, I cannot stand those ugly ass Ugg boots or why girls wear them. They are hideous looking things but even more, why would people wear them in mid summer? Aren't those a winter boot?

They're really comfy and easy to take on and off. That's about all I can say in their defense

As for wearing them in the summer - this is Stevie we're talking about. She wears boots all summer long, remember?

Technically, they're a beach boot. Invented in Australia for surfers, though people now wear them in the snow (and constantly fall. As beach boots, they have no traction whatsoever.).
Borderline hideous, but they're the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I imagine Stevie has pretty much destroyed her feet with decades of platforms, and they're something of a necessity.

If nothing else, I like that she still wears boots all summer long.

Boots at the beach? Never have I seen that and wondering how those furry things come into play there. I don't think it's as much she's destroyed her feet, I bet her platforms were always made the most cushioned they could be, I think it's just age and wearing such high heels. Although I personally don't think they're THAT much a pain, they do start to ache one's back after having them on a bit so I can imagine what it feels like for someone twice that age. Still isn't the rule we make sacrifices for fashion? Especially shoes. The comfortable shoes are usually the most ugly.

I was in a wedding a few weeks ago and wore about the tamest pair of heels imaginable... As soon as the ceremony was over those suckers were off.. and my feet were in pain for two days.

I can imagine how wearing platform boots for hours at a time days on end would mess up someones feet pretty badly.

I think some women handle heels better than others I would guess. I like that high platform 70's boot under a nice skirt and hate when Stevie wears anything less with them as far as shoes. Sure they scare some women but they look so good!

In defence, Uggy's are the most comfortable footwear ever invented, they are very popular hear in OZ, in our winter its not uncommon to see girls wearing them with sunglasses on during the day.. i understand why she would want to wear them, after being in high heals for hours on end.. Anyway i think its cool that she wears boots all summer long & sunny's too..

I'm way younger than Stevie but suffer from sacrailiitis from even the tamest of heels. A couple of hours and I was in pain for weeks. Had to have steroid injections in my joints. Stevie has a bad hip doesn't she? I don't blame her a bit going for some comfort.
