I don't know if this has been posted before, but I just discovered the band U.S. Royalty. They did a pretty sweet live cover of Wild Heart, merging the dressing room demo and the album version.
Also, I'm in lurve with their debut album "Mirrors".

its more of a cover of the Gentlemen Reg cover of the "Wild Heart dressing demo".

Edit: They aren't really comparable IMO because the Gentlemen Reg one is more of a parody and the US Royalty guys are honestly trying to cover the song, I think? Last edited by SapphireSister; 07-26-2011 at 05:45 PM.. |

Yes, I've heard the Gentleman Reg cover before, was never all that impressed by it. I like how U.S. Royalty uses more lyrics from the album version of Wild Heart. They put more of their own spin on it instead of just copying it word for word (frame for frame).

I saw US Royalty when they opened for 3EB a couple months ago. They performed Wild Heart and i almost had a heart attack!!!! Of course no one i was with could understand why i was flipping out..i was like "It's the dressing room version"!!! So i met the band after, and bought there CD and tried to chat with the lead singer..explaining i was a huge Stevie fan too and he was just like,"yea,so are we" in kind a snotty way...and i was like o....k but anyway..still very cool experience

They truly are. Mirrors has a great all-around late '60s/early '70s vibe to it. Great melodies, great music.

Okay PIPE DREAM TIME!!! Wouldn't it be awesome if Stevie had heard these covers of the Wild Heart/Can't Go Back hybrid and started performing it at shows? And what if Buckingham Nicks did a tour together to promote the release of Buckingham Nicks on CD and did it together? And they could also do some sort of hybrid of Eyes of the World and Enchanted since they both came out of the same jam.

I did tweet them and tell them Stevie should hear their version.

I found this whole thing disturbing. Am I the only one?

Certainly not. While I understand they're paying homage, I'm weirded out by it.

Wild Heart would be the perfect opener for Stevie's show
