I don't have this one myself, so I liked being able to stream it here at Purepop:
http://purepop1uk.blogspot.com/2011/...youre-one.html Waddy –You’re The One Waddy is in fact Waddy Wachtel; long time Warren Zevon right hand man and guitar slinger. This appears to be a one off recording and Waddy played all the instruments himself. In someway the results are very close to a Californian Dave Edmunds with LA contingent members Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks helping out on backing vocals. The track is dead tight and nicely compressed with the doubling guitar effects being most effective. A solid and rewarding early 70s rocker... |

Wow... sounded like a classic rock hit to me. I've never heard that before!

Thanks for sharing this, Michele! It seems every time I think I have the complete picture of Mac related history painted in my mind, another little flower pops up in the background!
I wonder what year this recording is from, and how exactly it came into being?

Holy crap on a cracker! I never even heard a whisper about this! I wonder when it was recorded and released? [Edit...duh! I just saw it says 1973 right on the post...sorry!!] I'd love to get it for my iPod...I can't believe this late in there is still something old to find out about!

Really, really cool find!! Thanks very much for sharing, Michele. Waddy's voice actually sounds great for this kind of track... not what I expected from hearing him live on "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" performances with Stevie.

Waddy's song You're The One could be the inspiration of a couple of Stevie's songs: One, on Sheryl Crow's Deluxe album (Stevie sings harmonies on it), is You're NOT The One and her most recent song on In Your Dreams: You MAY Be The One.

Whoa.......Waddy really rocked back then, has a very Edgar Wintery type twang, that popular oh so loved 70's ish heavy California rock influence. Wow..........thanks for sharing that gem of a find!

Other than EO17, my fave Waddy performance is "Can't Let Go" by Bryan Ferry, which I esteem as a California rock song nearly as high as "Go Your Own Way" (and above "HOtel California").
