Default Question about eyebrow piercings

Hi y’all – has anyone here ever gotten an eyebrow piercing (or know someone who did)?

I’m curious as to how long it takes to heal so I can safely and comfortably take the metal bar in and out when I want? I have an ear piercing from some years ago, but I don’t remember how long that took to heal. I was going to get one when I was living/working in California, but when I got to nearby San Rafael, the place was closed for the Christmas holiday. I wish it wasn’t as I would’ve gotten it over and done with, instead of hesitating and putting it off like I do now.

To make a long story short, I’m off on vacation soon (Virginia Beach ), and am considering it again. Would the piercing heal in about a week while I’m on holiday? After that, I’m back to work, so ideally I’d like to take it out when needed. My workplace is pretty casual (I work as a medical illustrator), but nonetheless, I have to meet with ‘professional’ folks like doctors and clinicians now and then so I have to make a 'good impression.' . Also, I’m an altar boy on Sundays and on 2 week days. In these situations, maybe having such an obvious piercing won’t go over too well.

Anyways, if anyone knows what the general healing time is, please share. Thanks!

hello! i had an eyebrow piercing about 8 years ago or so now and mine never seemed to heal. i ended up getting infected somehow and then when i went for an interview the one day i took it out and then tried to put it back in a few hours later and it had closed up. i was so mad because i really liked the piercing but didnt want to get it done all over again. i think i had it in for a few months.
i had my belly button pierced for about 13 years and the belly button ring broke so i got a new one and in those 2 days the hole closed up! i couldnt believe because i had it in for sooo many years. i loved that belly button ring too!

^^^ damn that sucks. and scar tissue is a bitch to have repierced.

i don't have my eyebrow done. i think it all depends on where the piercing is that determines the heal time. i think the navel is btwn 4-6 months.............right? i would think that the brow would be a bitch cause, since it's in the open, it would get dirty often and cause infection.

if i were you, i'd ask the dude/chick at the piercing place. they normally give you literature about the subject anyway.

I had an eyebrow piercing a few years ago and it never healed. The skin overtopping the bar got so thin because of infection that it literally fell out during an art class. I wouldnt recommend eyebrow piercings because they do carry a high rate of infection and rejection. Though I suppose there may be less chance of rejection with a hoop rather than bar.

You say you're going on holiday to the beach soon......

....well, when I got my ears pierced years ago it was the day before going on holiday to Majorca - being in and out of that salty sea water all the time healed them completely in about 2 days flat!!
