Default Stevie's Angel Dance

Hello everyone. I just now saw the Tusk documentary for the first time. It was phenomenal!! Since I have already heard the whole album it was cool to see the behind the scenes of it all. One really small but cute thing I noticed is that when they were doing the live version of "Angel" Stevie did a little dance that might have been the coolest thing I've ever seen ! I just thought it was so adorable!! It really did look like she was "an old dance hall girl"! And how she did that dance in those heels night after night and didn't fall is something to be reckoned with. I don't know if anyone knows what I am talking about but I just thought it was cute.

Actually, on a side note, the whole segment they did with "Angel" might have been my favorite part of the doc. Partly because I got to see Stevie in the studio with enormous loads of talent that I knew she had but it was nice to see it in terms of making the album. She looked so young and carefree but still focused on making the best record possible. It was also nice to see some of her interactions with Lindsey. Seeing them able to get along (for the most part) at this point is something to be seen ! Okay sorry about the ramble...I'll sign off now

i think we all love that particular segment of the Tusk doc....besides the great dancing and singing..i love watching stevie creating the song with lindsey..it displays what an artist she is in the midst of the creative process....can you imagine britany spears or kesha creating a song like Stevie was?

Definitely up there in the top five performances by Stevie for me. It never gets old!

The dance that she does at the end of Angel is a popular dance of the jazz age(1920s) called "The Charleston"

Awesome. I've never seen the full video of that performance, only the edited one on the Tusk doc.

This is an awesome video. I've never thought that FM had a "dated" sound by any means, even the stuff from Mirage never had a stereotypical 80's sound to it. It was always very original. But Angel, especially the live version, always makes me think of Elton John and Kiki Dee doing Don't Go Breaking My Heart. I think if the album track sounded more like the live version it could have been a huge hit. I always thought the live version was very sedate compared to the electricity of the live performances.

When I watch this clip I always imagine Christine McVie going "please... someone pay attention to me. " You see Lindsey with his arm around Stevie, then he's all up in John's grill and then they cut to Christine and she's all alone by herself behind her keyboard and just looks so lonely over there.

I agree with all your comments particularly the ones about seeing Stevie work in the studio. It always irks me when people make comments about her being wacky or somehow ditzy in some way. Clearly, from this clip alone, you can see that she knew her stuff and that she took and takes music extremely seriously. I agree that I cannot see many of today's pop stars being this passionate and dedicated to their craft.

I also love the part where Lindsey goes over and sings with Stevie. You can tell that they have a certain chemistry onstage. Without getting into too much of the relationship drama it's nice sometimes to just sit back and appreciate their interactions ! And my goal is to learn the Charleston so I can break it down Stevie style at the next dance type of event I go to

I thought she was remarkable in those shoes. At points, she would jump and both feet would just come off the ground, but it's not like you saw the jump coming. I barely noticed her bend her knees and propel herself upwards. Instead, she just elevated off the ground at will. It was a sight to see.

And she would run during that song, going between her mic and Lindsey's. It was rather hilarious. Quite an athlete she was. No wonder she's in Reeboks now, after everything she accomplished on those heels! Michele

This reminds me of one of those limo tapes. Christine is telling Mick and Stevie that she feels like she's nothing more than their pawn and Mick says that they would never consider Christine a mere pawn -- except maybe at night. It's so funny.

I never think of Mick as attractive, except when he displays that deft type of humor.

I agree. Mick isn't exactly an oil painting, but he could/can be absolutely charming. In fact, when you think about his elegant, old-school gentlemanly ways, he must've been the very antithesis of Lindsey, in Stevie's eyes, and no doubt that was a huge part of the attraction.

Michele I totally agree that her dominance over those heels means she must have some kind of superpower or something. I am continually baffled by it. Also what do you mean by the kimo tapes?

Oh, there are some "conversation" tapes that have been floating around for years. They are in a limo, giggling, high and talking about lots of nonsensical stuff.
