Okay, so I've been listening to Belle Fleur tonight and I swear the lyrics posted on buckinghamnicks.net are wrong. For starters, it says it starts with "Men and women, living in a canyon" but I hear "Mountain women live in the canyon." I also don't hear "Belle fleur, belle flower" but rather "Belle blue, belle flower". What do you guys hear? Also, what album was this planned for? Bella Donna/Wild Heart/both? Any alternate versions?

I Love Belle Fleur, yes she definatly sings Mountain Women, & not men & Women.. I have just finished listening to the above Demo, & also Poets,Priests & Legends demo. I dont hear the word Belle Fleur either, Belle Blue, belle flower sounds much nicer anyway. So could this be a miss print on the original demo label???
Anyway thanks for posting.. Yeah & unfortunately another awesome song that didn't make it on to an album..Last edited by Aussie W/Heart; 03-21-2011 at 06:17 AM.. |

Stevie recorded a few simple keyboard demos for "Belle Fleur" for Bella Donna, as well as a full complete band version:
http://www.mediafire.com/?21z74191l1bc10l In Late 1982, Stevie mentioned four songs that were already fully recorded for The Wild Heart: "Destiny" "Violet And Blue" "Belle Fleur" "Garbo" Of course, none of these ended up on The Wild Heart! I've never heard the outtake of "Belle Fleur" from The Wild Heart, because I'm pretty sure the full band version posted above is from Bella Donna, based on Stevie's voice, but I could certainly be wrong. But that version is not from the Master Reel To Reels, but from Maureen's Mystery Box, so dating it depends on Stevie's voice and the instruments, since the Mystery Box has no dates. On the Master Reels, Stevie would have the title as "Bellflower" or "Belle Flower", but the interview about The Wild Heart tracks, she had it as "Belle Fleur", and a copyright with that title of "Belle Fleur" exists for Stevie having written. BTW, Stevie has "Gypsy" spelled as "Gypsie" and "Gipsie" on some Reels, so who knows what spelling she means? |
