Wow, that rumor will never die will it?
At least they were somewhat tactful about it as best they can be with a rumor like that.

At least he ended it with, "She's a lovely woman by the way!"

They really don't mean any harm by it, this show is really really funny, the week before they had Carrie Fisher on the show and that was so hilarious, they always bring up really controversial kinds of topics.

I for one hope it NEVER does. I snicker my @ss off every time I think of the gypsy fairy queen of rock getting coke blown up her bum. It's just such fun imagery!

This whole "coke up the backside" story is untrue and a complete lie..........................................I always heard it was the front side.

![]() It's such a fun rumor... I don't know why so many people feel the need to spar with it. For you Ledgies who have followed Stevie for a long time, when was the first time you heard this one? I'm wondering when it really gained traction, and where it emanated from. I think I only picked it up when I started really getting into the Stevie/Mac internet community about 10-15 years ago. Surely it can be traced back much further? ![]() |

I've heard this rumor for years, long before I became a fan. Back in the early-mid nineties. I always thought it was funny but never paid too much attention to it. As I transitioned into being a hard-core fan I think about it from time to time and to be honest I:
a)believe it's true: I've known a lot of people who have ton way too much coke and if you do that's it's inevitable that your nose will become so stuffed and eroded you simply cannot get any coke to your brain anymore and are forced to use another orifice (unless you want to smoke or inject it which I don't think Stevie did). Plus, if you're physically dependent on something and still need to find energy to do a show and function at the rate she was she didn't have much of a choice as she was touring when it was at it's worst. b)want it to be true: Seriously though, it's not that bad! When you compare it to things people do sexually this is the tip of the iceberg, Also, I think of Stevie as being so innocent since she's not overt with her sexuality (although we know different) so I like seeing that rebellious, dangerous side. She's a hard-core rock and roll girl! I will say I think it's sad to a point that she would have to resort to that but it's part of her history and makes her the living legend she is today with the good and the bad. *Now all we need is a picture!! Could you imagine? lol |

One more rumor that will never die. May it live long, just as the witch one has! It's pretty hardcore, and it's not like she'd be the only rock and roller to do it. Whether it's actually true or not, who knows? Certainly, Stevie said it wasn’t true, but that doesn't mean anything. I'm sure she'd be too embarrassed to admit to it.
I'm curious what's more dangerous, though. Snorting coke when your septum is highly eroded or taking a booty bump? Was she at equal risk for a brain hemorrhage/aneurysm/whatever no matter how she took it at that point? If booty bumps would have been safer for her, yet she continued to do it the old-fashioned way (which she's claimed), taking her life into her hands with each snort, than I think that's much more disturbing than getting some coke blown up her bum.

Here is what Stevie said about the rumor:
The truth?: We’ll never know for sure, but Stevie Nicks has flat-out denied it. Here’s what she told Britain’s Q magazine: “You know, I heard that [myth] too,” she snaps. “But of course that never, ever happened. That is an absurd statement. It’s not true. Maybe that nasty rumour came from the fact that people knew I had such a big hole in my nose, which of course didn’t stop me from doing cocaine one little bit. The hole in my nose is this big,” she says, sketching a diagram of her face with a circular hole at the right side of her nose, not much smaller than an eye. “I have very delicate tissue, so it ate away my nose. It’s so painful. I curse the day I ever did cocaine. Nothing really works right in my head now.” |

I really wish Stevie would embrace her wild past. Like I have said before, I love the fact that Stevie played the boys game, and played it hard too, yet remained very feminine at the same time. I bet if she had to do it over again, she would still play the game of drugs, sex and rock & roll because that's how it's played. I remember seeing her on the Wild Heart tour and she was so wild in concert. Very girlish but at the same time very rock & roll. Coked up certainly, but belting out her songs and sweating up a storm wearing her dress that was so damn revealing yet left enough for your imagination. This was the Stevie Nicks I fell in love with. This was when Stevie was the queen of Rock & Roll. To hear her talk now, it sounds like she wishes she had been Debbie Boone. I find that sad.

Agree, she doesn't have to admit she did coke rectally, but why not just own the fact that she was wild and nuts and did it all to excess back in the day? Why try to be Florence Henderson now, when she has no Brady Bunch equivalent in her past at all?

I think, taken together, all the things Stevie has said about her wild days is pretty balanced. Y'know she always says the cocaine-and-brandy years beat the Klonopin years hands-down, etc. and that FM was like one outrageous 24/7 party for years on end ...
So I don't think she can really be said to be exactly disowning that side of her past. As for the booty bumps ... It wouldn't surprise me if it was true, and the reason is just that it IS a thing that people do/did in rock n roll, so it's not like she invented it or anything. Coulda just been a case of Stevie: 'I wish there was a way for me to do coke without making my brain explode.' Roadie: 'Uh, well, actually ...' Maybe it was only one time. Maybe it didn't work all that well. And yeh, she shouldn't be ashamed, but I'm telling you now that if it was me, and I had press interviews to do for the rest of my life, I'd NEVER admit it either! ![]() |

Right, maybe it was only one time. Like an experiment, and the partner in the experiment blabbed and it grew to be part of her mythology, as if it were her primary route of administration.
Those would be some expensive farts though. |
