Liz is a character, from all I've heard, and seems to have bounced back from being fired by Warner Brothers. I'm sure it was money related, or perhaps agism, and not that Liz isn't good at what she does. She's been fantastic for years working with Madonna, perfect fit. Did good work, if not as impressive, with Cher. She had a tough act to follow- Lois Smith, Cher's longtime PR woman was practically a genius at her job, as overused as the word is. Lois quit after decades in public relations, in her 60s, to pursue her dream of being a character actress on the NY stage. I don't know how that worked out, I don't follow NY theater much.
Howevah- and I don't mean it in an ugly way-- I think Liz Rosenberg is a totally wrong fit for Stevie Nicks. The best work Liz R did for Stevie was organizing the dvd-cd signing at the NYC Barnes and Noble and having some press coverage of it. She pretty much dropped the ball on promoting the cd or dvd or even consulting with the label for it to be in stock at retail, so I think she isn't all that 'into' repping Stevie. Liz R also did little to promote her client while the 'Unleashed' tour plugged on. Even if Mac had a different publicist than Stevie, Liz R should have done more, in my opinion, to promote that Stevie was out on the road again, and such promotion may have helped Stevie being considered for the R&RHOF- wow, new solo cd with highlights from her solo and Mac careers with a few new songs, along with a new dvd, and still loyal to Fleetwood Mac. It could have been spun, and wasn't, to show how invested SN has remained in maintaining her rock career. Stevie, of course, is much lower profile than Madonna, who I'd guess works enthusiastically, hand in hand, with Liz. I think Stevie needs someone else. Liz R hasn't enhanced Stevie's career, in my opinion, nor has she enhanced her presence in the media. I think Stevie should ditch Liz and unite with the record company's marketing and public relations departments. If Stevie stays with Warner Reprise, I think it would be a show of faith to the (new) suits for Stevie if she trusted their own people to do her public relations, and it would please the label. Politically, it could help her more than using a woman the label let go. Of course, I can be wrong. Last edited by Nikolaj; 09-30-2010 at 12:40 AM.. |

They seem fond enough of each other, Liz half-heartedly publicizes Stevie, and Stevie half-heartedly lets her! Of course, I don't know, really!
