Something we've all been waiting for:
"Due for release June 1, 2010 from Mobile Fidelity Sounds Labs The Complete Buckingham Nicks Sessions, featuring rare outtakes many never heard before. Keith Olsen the original producer and engineer for the album, has finished the remastering project. And according to Olsen (and verified by Mobile Fidelity) the original masters were in pristine condition. A very happy surprise for Olsen, who had imagined the tapes would have to be "baked" to get them in usable shape. It turned out according to Olsen to be about the music itself instead of the quality of the master tapes. He knows how important the this title is to the fans, and in a recent interview with Mix Magazine (May Issue), "I've been asked more about this album than anything I've ever done". And the emails at Pogologo Production Group would confirm this. He's kept the project a secret for over a year at the request of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. The complete track list will be released on MFSL's website in May. The CD will include a 24 page booklet featuring pictures of Lindsey and Stevie never seen before." And to coincide with this release WBR's TCB Video will release for the very first time "Buckingham Nicks, Tuscaloosa Live". The 16mm print has been sitting in someone's vault for over 35 years, and has never been bootlegged. Jerry Schilling (producer at TCB) "jumped at the chance" for this video. Schilling is proud to be apart of this project. Interviewed by Rolling Stone Magazine for the Elvis at 75 (August Issue) Schilling stated "you know a couple of Elvis' musician's played on the album Buckingham Nicks, and that how we received the information about this video. Jerry Scheff who played bass for Elvis, and on Buckingham Nicks knew the concert had been filmed (though Mr. Scheff wasn't on tour with Lindsey and Stevie, he was out with Elvis at the time). His brother Cosmo attended the concert in Tuscaloosa at Jerry's request. And on his own went up to the man that was filming the show that night and asked for a copy of the film after explaining his connections with Jerry and Elvis. The cinematographer was happy to obilge, being a big Elvis fan. "That's how we got the lead", Jerry said, "a couple of pair of Elvis' concert tickets and Cosmo's boldness is all it took". Scheff was surprised to have found his copy of the Buckingham Nicks film, but more importantly he found the name and address of the man who filmed the show. And with that information he contacted his friend (Schilling) in 2007 when they were working on another Elvis project (30th anniversary). And in 2008 he finally tracked down the guy had the original film. And when he agreed to the terms, they contacted Lindsey and Stevie's agents. Schilling admitted that Lindsey was very hesitant to release this film due to the sound quality, but after seeing the film he was shocked at how good video looked. Lindsey's approval really set things in motion. And now after over 35 years, the film will be released on Blu ray and DVD June 1, 2010. TCB video will release more information on the film in May 2010 at the WBR website. |
