Default The Fabulous miss Maxine Nightingale

This beautiful lady is probably the very first person, even before Fleetwood Mac, that I first heard WAY back in 1975! She has an incredible voice, and is of course known for her huge hit from 1976, Right Back Where We Started From. I remember listening to that 45 back in 1977 when I was 6 and I had plaid pants and a red turtleneck on. My mother took a picture when I wasnt looking of me in some weird John Travolta like disco pose. I still have that picture. Its one of my favorties, if for no other reason than I can say Must've known I was gay at the age of 6! I'm going to post come videos in this thread shortly with the help of my friend Vivfox. She has this one song that was a minor hit called Gotta Be The One, and another really sweet ballad called Lead Me On. If you cant get up and dance and be happy to her music after a bad day, well then there's really something wrong with you. Video's coming shortly.

Lead Me On was a good song, it got a lot of airplay here in NY, I remember it well.

A million years ago, SNL did a commercial parody of those greatest hits collections you sometimes see advertised. It was 'Maxine Nightingale's Greatest Hits' and it consisted of 'Back Where We Started From' repeated over and over and over dozens of times, but each time repeated by the announcer as if it were something different. A lot funnier than I am describing, maybe it's out there somewhere on video.

RBWWSF is one of my fave "disco" era songs. A DJ friend of mine made a remix of it with some updated elements. Also, singer Sinitta did a decent cover of this gem, too.

David, I remember the song Lead me On from way back when. I haven't heard it in ages. Thanks for the memories. Ofcourse RBWWSF is everybody's favorite hit by her. The first song didn't do anything for me though.
