Default Christmas Shopping

/whatever holiday you celebrate.

How's it going? Have you found any good deals? Are you braving the stores or shopping online? Are you done yet?

I just really started shopping today. American Eagle had some great deals, so I picked up sweaters for my best friend, my boyfriend, and my friend John-- no, I don't know when I turned into that aunt who has a lot of cats and horrible taste in gifts, but it did give me an excuse to text our very own Liam McConville from the mall and harass him about what sizes he wears. Thank you, Fleetwood Mac, for bringing men into my life with identical body types to my friends. The best friend is also getting some sort of Bath and Body Works lotion, the boyfriend a nice biography on Gerard Manley Hopkins, and John a book called The Ten Cent Plague (he's a comic book fiend.)

I still have to figure out what to get for my mom...if anyone has any suggestions for a beautiful but out of her mind 51 year old woman who greeted me at the airport with six new tattoos, a nose piercing, and the classiest hair/make up you'll ever see in your life, please let me know. She's currently engaged to a man who asked me to get him a mailbox for Christmas, if that helps your suggestions at all.

Also, does anyone else have a problem with the 1:1 present buying ratio? By this I mean, for every gift I buy someone else, I buy one for myself as well. Yes, that does mean I got three sweaters today.

I LOVE shopping on line. You can find great deals, get free shipping sometimes or get discounts. In fact, I think I've done most of my shopping on line. And yes, I am finished Christmas shopping; I started in September.

As far as what to get your mother, maybe a gift certificate to her local tattoo business or even hair salon. She sounds like my youngest sister. She's all about the tattoos, hair, & finger & toe nails!

Yeah, I like that 1:1 present buying ratio. I bought a new Nano for myself for Christmas & for my birthday which is coming up next month, I bought myself some Ugg boots which I've been wanting for sometime.

You started in SEPTEMBER? Damn. That's impressive. And what Uggs? Tall, short, sweater? I'm a little bit of an addict.

The tattoo certificate is a great idea, but I'm trying to discourage her from getting any more haha. It's such a role reversal. She's trying to talk me into getting one on the inside of my ear, I'm trying to get her to listen to the reason that my future employers might not be as in love with that idea. She's fun

My Uggs are the short, chocolate ones. My socks slide down & drive me crazy. I guess I need to get some "boot socks".

Yeah, I hear you about the tattoos; I personally don't have any, but I have been thinking about maybe getting one, well, maybe two small ones. I happened to see a picture of Rhianna (before the Chris Brown incident) in a magazine showing her tattoos, & the ones on her right ankle caught my eye. It was a black music note & a black G clef. Since I love music so much, I thought they'd be perfect for me, if I could get past the needle thing & the pain thing.

It's slow going, but I'll finish in time. The crowds are obnoxious, but so am I, so we're a good match.

Did you get me anything this year, by the way?

That depends. Are you going to accept my undying love this year?

Crazy Deb is catching up. My mother got her bellybutton pierced before the New Moon premiere.

But seriously, I thought she was on,what, three tattoos when you were here? Please be her at 51.

Let's be real Maris. You were so close to getting one behind your ear on Halloween and you didn't because it wouldn't have turned out right. You are just freaking out over the pain after getting your foot done.

I haven't started Christmas shopping, which is why I love being only seventeen. I'm only really obligated to buy like, 4 or 5 gifts so I can always get them a few days before.

David, your sense of humor never fails to make me laugh! I do all my shopping sometime in the next week. I hate bettling the crowds at the malls and stores so I spend as little time shopping as I can.

My dream has come true, this year, for my family. NO GIFTS! My big mouthed aunt, told my Xmas hosting aunt, that she and her kids, didn't want to join in, on the big gift exchange, and by the way, David(me) doesn't want to either! So, I really didn't want to, and I'm glad, although I'm hoping it didn't hurt anyone's feelings.

REALLY, I have everything I want, as far as material goods are concerned. Spending Christmas dinner with THEM, is all I want. I don't want six packs of imported beer, or whatever. And I don't want to have to go buy 15 presents like that, that THEY don't want either.
Enough already, with the presents. Their presence, is all I want.

I got all my shopping done for my wife (went waaaay lite this year)... still waiting on one final item to arrive in the mail (a replica of Neville Longbottom's wand from Harry Potter) - she's obsessed with HP!

I dont know what I'm getting... I didnt ask for anything this year. Donated some money to some kids charities. I'm very blessed and just don't need anything really.
