Benmont Tench is given credit for the musical bridge in Kind of Woman. But what is most prominent in the bridge is the guitar (Waddy Wachtel) and the piano (Roy Bittan). I thought maybe earlier versions had an organ solo by Benmont, but all the demos I have listened to are either scant of bridge or similar to the finished product.

Quote:
The fact that Waddy plays the guitar & that Roy plays the piano (& that Russ or somebody else plays the drums) doesn't detract from Benmont's credit as the bridge writer (which probably only means chord progression writer). Benmont may have even composed the guitar part that Waddy plays, or the piano part that Roy plays -- more or less. (Of course, I'm assuming Roy did so, & not Benmont.) The odd thing to me is that Benmont has songwriting credit for a nothing little bridge, but Roy Bittan doesn't have songwriting credit for cementing the general piano arrangement, on which the track is built. Pop tracks on albums are as complicated as movies when it comes to ascribing compositional or creative credit to a single person. Pop tracks & movies are communal affairs.
