Interview with me about my Stevie exhibit from the Filipstad Newspaper today!

Hanna does her debute with Stevie Nicks

Music and art are two of 16 years old Hanna Ollikainen's hobbies. In her art she has done both and by then she made her own exhibit, called Dreams. It starts Saturday 21st and runs to marsh 11th.
-It feels really fun to show my work, Hanna says about her first own exhibit.

Inside the local, Hanna has put 11 drawings on the wall, each one of them depicts the singer of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks.
-I begun to like her and her music in the athumn of 2007 and I have always painted my idols but I don't know why, she explains.

What is it about Stevie that makes her so good in your mind?

-It's her lyrics and her music. She has an awesome voice, well, everything about her is great!

Some of the drawings is done in her art lessions, in the "School Of Culture" as it's called and some of them is done at home. She has often a real picture of Stevie, to get inspiration from, beside her when she paint.
-It's mostly the face I paint the same as in the picture but when it comes to the environment, I have my own idea. The same with the cloths, Hanna says.

The thing that the exhibit has the name Dreams isn't random.
-It's a song by Fleetwood Mac and written by Stevie Nicks. It's one of their most famous songs, she says.
Hanna Ollikainen is in the 9th grade on Ferlinschool in Filipstad, Sweden, and has chose which school she wants to begin in. In highschool. When she has been studying art since 4th grade you might think that it's her first choice, but it isn't.
-I will try to enter the aesthetic program in highschool, in Kristinehamn, but with music instead of art.

Music and art are two things that takes patience and feelings to do, what makes you to be that kind of person?
-All my life, since I was a little girl, I have always been singing and painting.

Well, harder that that it doesen't has to be. The creative desire has always been there, for her, it has been as naturaly as the water in the Skiller river.


Wants to hear opinions
Hanna is now looking forward to the Saturday to come.
-It will be very fun and I hope it will be some people that come here and I want to hear their opinions about my work, she says.
Hanna doesn't feel any nervousness for the day. She feels confertable and satisfied with her artwork and says that she would feel a little separation anxiety is someone would want to buy one of the Stevie Nicks drawings.
-Haha, yeah, I don't know if I can sell anyone yet, we will see, she says ang smiles.

wow hannah...congrats on the article and ur show hannah...i always get the chills when young ppl get stevies music and lyrics...there is hope for the younger generation past rap and hip hop...its not all bad but there seems to be so much violence and swearing going on in them and stevie is more about hopes and dreams and love...thats why i'm so glad u picked up on her message...hugs pat
